Happy Sunday! I hope everyone had a great week! I can’t believe we’re approaching the last week of March.
Here’s how my workouts went this week:
Monday, March 20
Broadway Ride 3/18/23 – Robin (30 minutes)
Country Run 3/17/23 – Logan (30 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness (60 minutes)
Yes, you saw correct, that’s a country run on my list. This run was part of the Women’s History Month series on Peloton and I actually enjoyed it! It was all female country artists and the playlist was a good mix of country pop and country rock. I took it a little easy during the OTF class because earlier in the morning I dropped my phone directly on top of my foot. After going through a nice list of curse words, the pain subsided a little but it was still throbbing. I iced it all day while I sat at my desk for work but it’s just crazy how freak accidents can wreck havoc.
Tuesday, March 21
WHM Ride 3/19/23 – Camila (30 minutes)
Pop Walk 3/17/23 – Olivia (45 minutes)
German Pop Full Body Strength 3/20/23 – Erik (30 minutes)
Decided to give my foot a day off from running. It was still sore, but didn’t hurt when I walked so I opted to do a longer power walk as part of my workout. I have no clue how Olivia is able to walk at such high speeds on the treadmill since she’s so short lol. I was drenched in sweat after the class.
Wednesday, March 22
Orangetheory Fitness (60 minutes)
Pop Barre 3/20/23 – Hannah C (20 minutes)
Walk + Run 3/16/23 – Jess (20 minutes)
Madonna Ride 3/19/23 – Mila (20 minutes)
My foot was only a little sore when I woke up and I was able to run with no issues so I was super thankful for that. I also decided this would be my last OTF class for the week since the DriTri was on Saturday.
Thursday, March 23
Women x Hip Hop Ride 3/20/23 – Ally (30 minutes)
Mood Core Strength: Sweet 2/14/22 – Callie (10 minutes)
90s Run 10/13/22 – Jess (30 minutes)
WHM Two for One Bootcamp 3/21/23 – Hannah & Joslyn (30 minutes)
I opted to sleep in and split up my workout between my lunch brea and after work. Sometimes I just need a slower start to my day. I spent around 45 minutes eating breakfast drinking coffee and watching the news before logging into work and it felt nice to not rush through my morning. Joslyn and Hannah were so great together in their bootcamp class. The playlist and their energy made the class go by quickly.
Friday, March 24
Rock Ride 3/22/23 – Christine (20 minutes)
90s Walk 3/23/23 – Jess (15 minutes)
Extra 10: Walk 12/5/22 – Marcel M (10 minutes)
Extra 10: Walk 12/5/22 – Camila (10 minutes)
Focus Flow: Hips 9/8/22 – Chelsea (20 minutes)
I kept things light in anticipation of the Dri Tri on Saturday. The hips yoga class felt amazing! Honestly I don’t know why I don’t do these classes more often since my hips are notoriously tight.
Saturday, March 25
Orangetheory Fitness – Dri Tri
AT’s Ride to Greatness: Warm Up Ride 3/25/23 – Alex (10 minutes)
AT’s Ride to Greatness: Game 3/25/23 – Alex (20 minutes)
Rock Yoga Flow 3/24/23 – Denis (30 minutes)
It’s one of my favorite days of the year – Orangetheory Dri Tri! We have had the mildest Winter on record but of course it was FREEZING the day of the Dri Tri (and of course the weather today is much warmer and beautiful). We were also expecting rain, but luckily that held off until later in the afternoon. Despite the cold temps, the actual event went pretty well. I was about one minute off my PR time from 2021 so I’ll take it!
Saturday was also the first live ride for AT’s Ride/Run to Greatness so I hopped on that to support #TeamActivate. We lost, but at least I was able to ride live and give the team some points.
Sunday, March 26
Extra 10: Walk 11/10/22 – Jon (10 minutes)
Extra 10: Hike 11/28/22 – Matty (10 minutes)
Full Body Strength 3/24/23 – Jess (45 minutes)
Women x Hip Hop Yoga Flow 3/25/23 – Kirra (30 minutes)
My OTF studio was running the indoor Dri Tri event today so there was no Lift45 class on the schedule. Not a problem, as Jess taught a 45 minute full body strength class on Friday and I knew I wanted to take it on demand. Thankfully I was warned by a few people that the class was crazy and they were 100% right, but I still really enjoyed it. The yoga class was really great – awesome playlist and the extra stretching felt great for my left quad (I aggravated it a little bit yesterday during the Dri Tri).
This week’s stats:
Bootcamp – 30 minutes
Cycle – 32.81 miles
Orangetheory Fitness – 120 minutes
Running – 14 miles
Strength Training – 105 minutes
Peloton Artist Series Classes – 958/964*
*not including rowing classes
I’m happy to report that my foot is 95% better. Now it’s only sore if I press hard on the bone. I thought it would bruise but it didn’t. Moral of the story – don’t be a klutz like me, lol.
Yesterday during the Dri Tri I had a lot of thoughts during the running portion. Overall the run felt fine, but I know that the only way I am going to PR is if I get faster at the run portion of the event. I like the time I have for the rower because I’m afraid if I go faster, I may be too tired to get through the other parts of the event. My time for the 300 bodyweight exercises is already pretty good – honestly that’s my strongest part of the event, and I can’t complete that any faster – so it really comes down to the running. Over the summer I think I want to do more outdoor speed work to help me prepare for the September Dri Tri.
…and now for this week’s memes/funny tweets.
That’s it! I hope you had a great week 🙂
I’m linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.

That’s so cool with the country run! There are so many good female country singers. That must have been a treat. I’m sorry to hear about your foot! Quite a funny accident except you want your feet intact, especially as a runner!
kookyrunner says
Country is not a genre of music that I automatically gravitate toward, but I really enjoyed the playlist!
Wendy says
Ouch! I swear I have the strangest accidents, but your phone drop is right up there! I’m glad no harm done and that your foot is feeling better. You kept up with all your activities too, which is impressive. Congrats on such a strong finish on the Dri-Tri!
kookyrunner says
…and it was how the phone strategically fell on the worst part of my foot, lol. So random and ridiculous.
Darlene says
Ouch on the foot. Glad it wasn’t serious.
Nice week of fitness. Congrats on the dry Tri.
Pretty impressed on your consistency.
kookyrunner says
Thanks Darlene!
Jenny says
I thought of you on Friday because I had a client who was doing the OT DriTri the next day! Congratulations on doing it and being so close to your PR. I’m glad your foot is okay!!! It’s a little scary how little flukey things like that could take us out at any moment.
I’m laughing so hard at the Vizcacha- is that really what that animal looks like??? Hilarious.
kookyrunner says
After I saw the Vizcacha meme, I googled them and they actually do look like that, LOL
Coco says
Congrats on the Dry Tri!
LOL on the country run. Marcel D did a similar country walk (more in the rock side) and I wondered if you’d take it. She even talks about being open to giving different kinds of music a chance. 🙂
I need to do the 2 for 1 bootcamp.
I hope you have a good week!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Coco! I’m already looking forward to the September DriTri. I’m a sucker for this event haha.
Marcel is totally right about giving other genres of music a chance. I always says I love anything except Country and Classical BUT I feel like I can change my mind about this.
Deborah Brooks says
Way to survive your country class! I. Need to check out that new Chelsea class I really like her. Huge congrats on your dri tri that always sounds like a fun challenge
kookyrunner says
I love Chelsea! Something about her voice (and also Ross’s voice) always calms me down .
Debbie says
Congrats on doing such a great job on your DriTri!
It’s amazing how much dropping something as small as a phone on top of the foot can hurt. I’m glad it’s starting to feel better.
kookyrunner says
Thanks Debbie!
Yes it was such a freak accident with the phone but I’m so thankful there was no permanent damage.
Michelle says
I still can’t believe you voluntarily took a country class LOL 😉
Congrats on your Dri Tri!!
Glad your foot is feeling better – isn’t it crazy how much something like that can hurt?!
kookyrunner says
Haha I know! It was part of the Women’s History Month series so that’s why I wanted to take it. It really wasn’t that bad and Logan is awesome!
Marcia says
Oh wow I’m so glad you did not break your foot with that freak phone drop. Ugh! Glad it’s feeling better. I was asked about my “spirit animal” at a job interview once. Talk about being taken by surprise. Hah! Nice week for you! A leisurely morning is amazing!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Marcia! At first it was stinging SO bad that I was sure I injured it badly but luckily it was fine.
That spirit animal question is so odd – i have no clue how I would have answered that!
Kimberly Hatting says
Great job on the Dri Tri! I’d seen the country run class (I was looking for some entertainment for a 3ish mile run), and didn’t think I could handle an entire 30 minutes, LOL. I have Alex’s ride to greatness scheduled for after work today. I’d planned to do it this morning, but woke up feeling crazy exhausted, and I know I’ll need energy for that class!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Kim! It was a very cold day for the DriTri but still a lot of fun.
And yes, you will need some extra energy for AT’s ride lol
Cari says
OMG the exit meme. Yes.
Yay on your foot and the Dri Tri. You’re kicking ass.
kookyrunner says
Thanks Cari!
Wendy says
Maybe add more weights, especially lower body(?). I’ve always done tempo workouts and speed work. About 3 years ago I started doing more weights (3x a week, lower body, upper body, total body) and I am convinced that is what has made me faster (marathon, half, and 10K PR in the last 13 months….and I am not young). Just my $0.02.
kookyrunner says
That’s really interesting – thanks so much for sharing. I have increased my strength workouts this year and try to focus primarily on full body or lower body, but will try to do more lower body specific workouts.
Jenn says
I have never related to something more than that Vizcacha. Also, the bear is welcome to all my meetings.
Congrats on the Dri Tri! That’s huge! I hope your speed plans pay off!
Glad your foot is mostly better!
kookyrunner says
I’m so glad that I saw that Vizcacha meme because they are definitely my spirit animals!
Jessie says
Aww, I love the Vizcacha. How cute!
congrats on the Dri Tri!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Jessie!
Chocolaterunsjudy says
I always love your memes, Kim! So glad that your foot is feeling so much better.
I know it must’ve felt disappointing to be so close to that PR, but you did great! It’s hard to PR in false Spring, LOL!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Judy! I was glad to be pretty close to my PR. That gave me hope that I actually good PR eventually.
Shathiso says
Adding some outdoor speedwork will definitely do the trick I feel. You’re so close and I have a good feeling about September!
The random accidents always wreak havoc! LOL. So don’t worry, there are many of us klutzes out here!
kookyrunner says
Thanks! Yup, I’m hoping the spadework will do the trick, even though I hate spadework.
Lisa @ TechChick Adventures says
Speaking of freak accidents – I was carrying empty laundry baskets while loading stuff into our camper (in the driveway). I walked through our garage and tripped on my car charging cable (for my EV). The baskets went flying and I slammed to the ground!! Luckily I just hurt my pride on that one and there was nothing in the laundry baskets. That could have ended very poorly!!
kookyrunner says
OH no!! I am glad that you are okay.
