Happy Sunday. I hope that everyone had a good week. For once, I can say we had a pretty good weather week here – little to no rain and not a lot of humidity. Despite the great weather, this week felt super loooonnngggg. I was so happy when it was finally Friday. Here’s how my workouts went this week.
Monday, June 6
Warm Up Walk 3/8/22 – Susie (10 minutes)
API Heritage Run 5/23/22 – Susie (30 minutes)
Norah Jones Ride 5/25/22 – Mayla (20 minutes)
Norah Jones Ride 5/25/22 – Ally (20 minutes)
Flash 15 6/6/22 – Jess (15 minutes)
Norah Jones Yoga Flow 5/25/22 – Nico (30 minutes)
#nevermissamonday! Spent the first half of my morning with Susie to get in miles for the #3for31 challenge. Loved both of the Norah Jones rides – super laid back and the music was so soulful, which is much needed on a Monday morning. When I finished up my ride, it was 8:12 am so I decided to jump into the live Flash 15 class at 8:15. I was very happy to see that it was a bodyweight class since I haven’t done many bodyweight classes lately.
Tuesday, June 7
Fleetwood Mac Run 5/14/22 – Susie (20 minutes)
Pop Ride 5/20/22 – Benny (20 minutes)
Rock Ride 5/24/22 – Sam (20 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness (60 minutes)
Alternative Yoga Flow 5/24/22 – Anna (20 minutes)
Susie’s Fleetwood Mac run was really good – she picked all their hits for her playlist. The OTF class had a different type of format which I loved – we did 6 total switches between the floor and treadmill, about 4-7 minutes per switch. I think I enjoyed the class so much because it reminded me of a Saturday60 class, with a true HIIT format. I don’t think I’ve every done a yoga class to alternative music but it was pretty cool.
Wednesday, June 8
Orangetheory Fitness (60 minutes)
API Heritage Walk 6/8/22 – Susie (20 minutes)
Fleetwood Mac Ride 5/13/22 – Charlotte (30 minutes)
Chest & Back Strength 4/29/22 – Jess (10 minutes)
While yesterday I loved the OTF class format, today I hated it. The treadmill was one long endurance block and I just wasn’t feeling it at all. My knee also didn’t enjoy it so I had to build in short walk breaks when possible. After class I still had time before logging into work, so I did a short outdoor walk to finish up the remainder of my #3for31 miles.
Thursday, June 9
Warm Up Walk 3/19/22 – Jeffrey (10 minutes)
Fleetwood Mac Run 5/15/22 – Tobias (30 minutes)
Fleetwood Mac Ride 5/15/22 – Emma (30 minutes)
Upper Body Strength 5/14/22 – Rad (20 minutes)
Standing Yoga 5/23/22 – Ross (10 minutes)
Fleetwood Mac Yoga Flow 5/15/22 – Denis (30 minutes)
There’s just something about Tobias that makes him one of my favorite Tread instructors. Sure, I have no clue what he’s saying since the classes are in German, but his energy is unmatched. He is always full of energy and so excited to teach class. It really helps me, especially when I don’t want to run. Rad’s upper body class was great – nothing too complicated and it provided a great arm burn.
Friday, June 10
Standing Yoga 3/1/22 – Chelsea (10 minutes)
Pop Run 6/8/22 – Marcel (20 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness (60 minutes)
Pride Yoga Flow 6/10/22 – Ross (30 minutes)
The standing yoga classes have been great, especially when I have a long block of meetings. Switched things up a bit and took an afternoon OTF class. It was okay, but definitely threw me off since I always take morning classes. Celebrated my 300th yoga class with Ross. It was a fun way to end a very long work week.
Saturday, June 11
90s Walk 6/9/22 – Jess (15 minutes)
Pride Live DJ: Two For One Walk 6/11/22 – Adrian & Jess (30 minutes)
Pop Ride 6/8/22 – Ally (30 minutes)
Harry Styles Ride 5/20/22 – Mila (30 minutes)
I got in my miles for the #3for31 challenge before going to donate blood. the Pride Live DJ class can be taken as either a walk or a run and I highly recommend it! When I tried to donate last month, they had an issue with my vein so I was unable to donate. Luckily that wasn’t the issue this time and I was able to donate with little issues. After the donation, I ate lunch and felt pretty good so I hopped on my bike to finish up my workout.
Sunday, June 12
Pride 365: TDov Walk 3/31/22 – Joslyn (20 minutes)
Saturday60: 2000s Hip Hop Bootcamp 6/11/22 – Jess (60 minutes)
Harry Styles Two for One Ride 5/20/22 – Ally & Emma (30 minutes)
Harry Styles Yoga Flow 5/20/22 – Mariana (20 minutes)
I couldn’t do Saturday60 live yesterday because my blood donation appointment was during the class time, so I save the torture for today. I heard from several people that it was pretty intense, so I decided to do a 20 minute walk before class to warm up my legs. As expected, the class was hard BUT the playlist was absolutely amazing – so many great hip hop songs from the 2000s. I didn’t really care for the Harry Styles class. Emma and Ally kept doing coordinated dance moves and it was throwing me off lol. Also the music wasn’t that great.
Summary:
Running – 12.6 miles
Cycle – 47.33 miles
Strength Training – 45 minutes
Orangetheory Fitness – 180 minutes
Bootcamp – 60 minutes
Peloton Artist Series Classes – 617/622
The biggest news in Peloton this week was that instructors taught classes with people in the studio! Both studios in London and New York opened classes up to select people (I think primarily people in the media). It was kind of surreal to see people in the studio but I know that the instructors really enjoyed it. For now, I think that people will be in classes a few days a week throughout the Summer, but instructors will still teach live classes with empty studios. I think they are trying to offer a mix of both to please everyone.
In regards to work, even more organizational changes coming this summer. That’s all I’ll say about that.
…and now for this week’s memes.
That’s it! I hope you had a great week 🙂
I’m linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.

I feel you on the work front. We have so many chiefs now, telling us how to do our jobs, it’s really hard. I’m very overwhelmed and stressed these days. Just riding the wave for now and hoping things calm down. I hope so for you too!
I love that you donate blood. My youngest does too! It’s pretty amazing to me. Have a great week!

Work stress can really be overwhelming at times. I hope that things will start to get better for you soon. It can be so frustrating when new people come in and think they know all there is to know about your job, even though you’re the one actually DOING your job!
I just started to donate blood this year. In the past I’ve had issues with my iron not being high enough, but that problem seems to be under control now. I am not scared of needles so I figured why not? Especially since there is such a shortage right now.
Deborah Brooks says
wow you got in a lot of cycling miles this week! I have significantly cut back on cycling since I have been running more. I need to fix that! Solid workout week for you!
kookyrunner says
I feel like I’m been doing more cycling since it’s easier on my knee but I may get back to more runs in a few weeks.

Congrats on your 300th yoga class! I tried taking an Outdoor German class and didn’t love it — although I got the gist of more cues than I expected, I lost track of whether we were counting down to speed up or slow down. Maybe it’s easier on the tread where I can see what they’re doing. 😉
I am looking forward to taking Cody’s pride ride for a fun ride this week. I hadn’t seen the Jess + Adrian class — definitely will do that one soon.
Sorry about the work turmoil.
kookyrunner says
I haven’t taken an outdoor German class, but you’re right that it’s easier on the treadmill since you can see their cues.
I am going to try to take Cody’s Pride ride either this week or next week – it really looked like a blast, especially with all the people live win the studio!

Oh no on more organizational changes. I’m glad I basically never worked a corporate job. The closest I came was one year working for the government — or the Summer I was a secretary at IBM. Good luck, Kim, I hope it all works out!
Sounds like a mostly good fitness week for you. The weather was definitely mostly awesome this week — if only we could get that on repeat, right?
kookyrunner says
I’m really re-considering corporate at this point! Although I’ve been in corporate jobs ever since I graduated from grad school, it can definitely be very stressful.
Darlene Cardillo says
Ugh on the job stress.
Mine is driving me crazy as well. I’d quit if I didn’t need the $$.
Anyway, I have a 3 month membership to Peloton. (two are free) I will probably only use it for solo outdoor runs. I have to remember that Fleetwood mac one. My bike is gathering dust but in the summer I just want to get fresh air.
kookyrunner says
Love that you are going to use your Peloton membership to take advantage of some out door runs this summer!

I’m impressed with how much yoga you did this week! i can never seem to fit everything in, and last week I only did yoga twice. You’ve inspired me!
I’m impressed that you donated blood between workouts. Sounds like you had a great week, workout-wise. Sorry about that job stress. Yes… maybe it’s time for a change? Sometimes that’s easier said than done though.
kookyrunner says
I usually fit in longer yoga classes after work, but I like the 10 min standing yoga classes because I can do those during the workday.
Michelle says
Ugh I’m really sorry to hear that the work stress continues. You’re really due for a break.
Nice job on hitting 300 yoga classes – congrats!
I love the memes – there are so many times I want to cover someone’s mouth and just yell no! LOL
kookyrunner says
Thanks! I still can’t say that I love yoga, but I do appreciate the variety of yoga classes on the app, especially standing yoga!
Kimberly Hatting says
Sorry for all your work stress, Kim. Our office manager is retiring next month, and the buzz around the office is that I’ll be transitioning to the position….though no one in management has said anything to me about it. Kind of frustrating when it feels like you’re the last one to know about your “new” job duties and responsibilities. Thanks for the reminder about the standing yoga classes! I need to give those a try.
kookyrunner says
Yeah I always forget about the standing yoga classes but they are so beneficial!
That’s a bummer about not being kept ion the loop at work, especially if the new job would add more work responsibilities to your plate.
Marcia says
I hope work settles down for you soon. Nobody needs that kind of stress. Great mix of workouts! Hope your knee isn’t too pissed off.
kookyrunner says
Thanks Marcia!

I’m glad the weather was better! And so nice to see Peloton has people in studio! That’s huge!
I, too, wish I could just scream “NO” and run when i see people I don’t want to talk to. I’ve become incredibly antisocial and extra-introverted as of late.
I hope the organizational changes aren’t terribly awful.
kookyrunner says
Yup, a total game changer for Peloton since its been over 2 years since they have had people in the studio! I know the instructors are so excited.
