Happy Sunday! I hope that everyone had a great week. My week was a complete dumpster fire and I spent most of the work week putting out fires.
As soon as one problem was resolved, another one popped up. It was exhausting. I kept telling myself that desserts is stressed backwards and that normally made me laugh and calm down, which was much needed every day.
To keep my sanity, I worked out even though I zero motivation to exercise. Here’s how my workouts went this week:
Monday, March 7
Pre-Run Warm Up 8/2/20 – Matty (5 minutes)
R&B Run 2/25/22 – Becs (20 minutes)
Reggae Run 2/27/22 – Tobias (30 minutes)
Jazz Ride 2/21/22 – Christine (20 minutes)
BHM: Block Party Full Body Strength 2/25/22 – Chase (30 minutes)
#nevermissamonday! It was time for my 400th run. Jess S didn’t have any live runs on the schedule, so I opted to take an on-demand class with Becs. Not my first choice, but the class wasn’t too bad. The reggae run had a really great playlist which made the run fly by. I used the Jazz ride as sort of a cool down ride before doing the full body strength class.
Tuesday, March 8
XoXo, Cody 3/1/22 – Cody (30 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness – Endurance (45 minutes)
WHM Core Strength: Power Stack 3/8/22 – Emma (15 minutes)
Intervals Run 12/31/21 – Marcel M (20 minutes)
WHM Meditation: Power Stack 3/8/22 – Chelsea (15 minutes)
Happy International Women’s Day! This is one of my favorite days of the year because it’s a great chance to celebrate women around the world.
It was another benchmark day at OTF – the 2,000 meter row. I’ve done this benchmark twice before. I wasn’t expecting a PR but I also wasn’t expecting to have my worst time to date. It wasn’t a “bad” time but it wasn’t good for me. Truth be told, I basically had everything working against me that morning so it’s no surprise my time wasn’t great, but I brushed it off and will try to do better next time. Peloton released a few classes in celebration of Women’s History Month and I picked Emma’s core class which was pretty good. I also ended the night with a longer meditation because I really needed it!
Wednesday, March 9
Orangetheory Fitness – Strength (45 minutes)
WHM Two for One Ride 3/6/22 – Hannah F & Leanne (30 minutes)
R&B Walk 3/8/22 – Jeffrey (30 minutes)
WHM Yoga Flow: Power Stack 3/8/22 – Nico (20 minutes)
The ride with Hannah F and Leanne was pretty fun – very lowkey and they even had some choreography π I really, really enjoy the R&B Walk with Jeffrey! I’ve noticed that all of the German Tread instructors (Jeffrey, Tobias and Marcel M) often have the best playlists. Now if only Peloton would add English subtitles to their walks/runs, I would take them way more often!
Thursday, March 10
Warm Up Run 2/24/22 – Jess (5 minutes)
WHM Run: Power Stack 3/8/22 – Susie (30 minutes)
WHM Ride: Power Stack 3/8/22 – Mayla (20 minutes)
WHM Ride: Power Stack 3/8/22 – Jenn (30 minutes)
Arms & Light Weights 3/7/22 – Cliff (10 minutes)
I really enjoyed Susie’s WHM run. Often during her classes she mentions how she didn’t start running until she was 35 years old and that it’s never too late to try something new. That message always resonates with me. I saw that Cliff released a new arms & light weights class so I decided to add that to my stack before jumping on an 8am call for work.
Friday, March 11
WHM Celebration Run 3/8/21 – Becs (45 minutes)
Donna Summer Post-Run Stretch 3/11/22 – Jon (10 minutes)
Donna Summer Yoga Flow 3/11/22 – Ross (30 minutes)
Donna Summer Core Strength 3/11/22 – Rebecca (20 minutes)
I had a super early doctor’s appointment which was near a park so I decided to do Becs’ outdoor WHM run from last year after my appointment. Usually her classes are a hit or miss with me but I really enjoyed this run. She talked a lot about Katherine Switzer, 261 Fearless and other female marathon runners. I love any excuse to celebrate strong women π I love disco music so I was looking forward to the Donna Summer classes this week. The post-run stretch was great and the yoga class was super fun! It was a nice way to end a stressful work week.
Saturday, March 12
Pre-Run Warm Up 10/25/20 – Chase (5 minutes)
Women’s History Month Run 3/8/22 – Becs (30 minutes)
2010s Full Body Strength 3/11/22 – Jess (30 minutes)
Fresh Friday Ride 4/30/21 – Denis (30 minutes)
HIIT Cardio 8/13/21 – Jess (20 minutes)
I really enjoyed Becs’ Women’s History Month run. There’s just something about hearing about badass female runners that really inspires me. She was also really motivating during the run. Becs can be very chatty during her classes but this time that ended up being a positive thing. Absolutely loves the 2010s strength class (great full body burn) and I think this Fresh Friday Ride was probably the best one I’ve ever taken. When Denis started the class he even said it was probably his most favorite playlist and I tend to agree!
Sunday, March 13
Broadway Ride 3/10/22 – Sam (30 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness – Strength (45)
Flash 15 4/30/21 – Jess (15 minutes)
Strength day at OTF meant using heavier weights on the floor which I always love π I haven’t done a Flash 15 in a while and forgot how awful but great they are, lol. I’ll most likely do a yoga class later on this afternoon to get in an extra stretch and get my mind right before another week of work.
Summary:
Running – 16.76 miles
Cycle – 38.56 miles
Strength Training – 120 minutes
Orangetheory Fitness – 135 minutes
Peloton Artist Series Classes – 532/536
Even though we’re halfway through March, you have to love the fact that Momma N decided to drop snow and hail yesterday, followed by high winds and more cold weather. I read that approximately 10,000 people across the state lost power but luckily things in Stamford weren’t too bad. And of course tomorrow the weather is back up to the mid-50s.
Earlier this week Peloton made an announcement that we could now sync our Apple watches to the bike and treadmills. So many people are happy about this, including me! Every time I did a workout on the bike or treadmill, I would have to start a manual workout on my watch. Now as soon as I start the class, everything syncs up. It’s really nice to have everything streamlined now! In not so great Peloton news, one of the instructors, Chase, has left the company. It’s such a bummer because I loved his positive energy and he was so down to Earth. I know he’ll move on to do great things, but it’s a huge loss for the platform.
…and now for this week’s memes. Thanks to Deborah for sending me most of these and providing laughs throughout the week.
That’s it! I hope you had a great week π
Iβm linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.
In Case You Missed It
Tuesday Topics: Short or Long Run
Coco says
Sorry work was so stressful, but glad you got through it β hopefully you got to enjoy a good dessert too. π I canβt keep up with all your Peloton classes, but Iβll put that Fresh Friday Ride on my list. I am bummed about Chase, although his recent classes havenβt resonated with me he was one of my first favorites.

On Sunday I enjoyed a bundt cake from this place called Nothing Bundt Cakes – it was pretty good! Definitely not going to help me hit my OTF Transformation Challenge goal, but it was very much needed lol. Let me know how you like the Fresh Friday ride! I agree about Chase – I haven’t taken many of his classes lately because it just kind of seemed like he was checked out, but now we know why.
Kimberly Hatting says
Bummer on the work stress. That really bites. Somehow, I have been missing the Donna Summer workouts…but I guess I have been focusing more on Tunde this past week (?), and haven’t been “actively” looking for them. I hope things are better for you this week, #KimTwin <3
kookyrunner says
With Peloton I really find it heard to keep up with all the things they have going on lol. I usually find out about the new Artist Series classes by visiting their Instagram page.
Jenny says
Well, you had a great week of workouts, in spite of the stress. Can you imagine if you were a person who didn’t exercise? How do they cope with it all? Anyway, love the memes as always. I’d already seen that Taco Bell one, ha ha. Hope this week improves for you!
kookyrunner says
Oh man, if I didn’t exercise I would for sure have cursed someone out last week, lol. Exercise truly helps me manage my stress and stay level headed, even when things are totally crazy.
Liz Dexter says
Sorry you had such a stressful week and well done for still getting your exercise in!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Liz! Hoping this week is a little better!
Darlene S Cardillo says
love that gas one… actually both. Can’t believe how much I spend on gas and I work from home.
You are so active. I almost want to go back to Peleton…I do have an Apple watch but alas I don’t use my bike anymore and don’t have a treadmill. But I did like the music during my outdoor runs.
Hope this week is less stressful. Crazy about yesterday’s weather.
kookyrunner says
I’ve seen so many gas memes lately. Hopefully these increases won’t last too much longer.
The weather this week has been good so far. Let’s hope that this past weekend was the end of the snow π
Wendy says
I’m so sorry things are so tough right now, Kim. I hope you found some stress relief from your workouts. It looks like a good weather week ahead and that’s a win!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Wendy! The workouts were much needed and allowed me to get out some of my stress so that was a good thing. Sometimes I wish I could clone myself to get work done in half the time, lol.
Jessie says
I’m sorry work has been such a mess. That’s so hard. And it definitely affects workouts, though man, you still do a lot of classes, yowsa! So impressive. I don’t think I have taken Chase’s classes, though I’m still relatively new to Peloton.
Becs is inspiring! Sounds like an awesome run class.
Love the memes!
kookyrunner says
Work stress, although nothing new, can really get to me sometimes. Last week was one of those times so thank goodness for exercise, especially anything with heavy weights, lol.
Becs is a such a badass runner and seems like such a sweetheart. I don’t think she realizes how fast she is, lol.
Judy @ Chocolaterunsjudy says
Oh that first meme! I can’t stop going to my moms, obviously, but it definitely hurts.
Unfortunately I don’t have a Garmin watch. Then again I don’t have any actual Peloton equipment either . . .
Sorry that things were rough on the work front this week, Kim. You are really overdue for a break!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Judy! I have to get through this huge project launching in late April and then I’m going to take some time off in May just to decompress, lol.
Michelle says
The first and last memes had me chuckling – so spot on!
I’m sorry work was so stressful this week. Hopefully, your workouts helped a little. Any more time off planned? I hope this week goes better!
kookyrunner says
Right?! I thank Deborah so much for sending my those funny memes throughout the week π
My workouts definitely helped with work last week and I’m hoping the same will apply for this week since it’s shaping up to be another nutty week.
Cari says
I hope your week gets better.
Will do the Becs’ run this week. Was waiting for a review since hers last year was her talking about herself, which I didn’t get into. Not that she isn’t a strong woman, but you know what I mean.Congrats on 400!
kookyrunner says
Totally understand what you mean! I really have to be in the right mood to take a class with Becs because of the amount of talking, but her WHM run this year was pretty good!
Jenn says
I’m sorry things aren’t going according to plan. It can really be frustrating and exhausting.
Love this week’s memes. I’m so ready for a vacation.. I have a couple of little overnights planned, but I want to really go somewhere.
kookyrunner says
Thanks Jenn! Since I’m a type A person, it’s frustrating to me when things go off plan so I’m just trying to navigate through that now.
Deborah Brooks says
Sorry work was so stressful for you this week! Glad I could provide a few laughs this week. For someone not motivated to workout, you sure crushed it this week with lots of variety
kookyrunner says
Your memes were right on time this week and provided a good amount of laughs so thank you!
Marcia says
Sorry the week was a cluster Kim! But you got through it and I hope the workouts helped relief the stress. I agree Becs can be chatty, but I like her. I NEED to go check out the Donna Summer stuff!
kookyrunner says
The workouts definitely prevented me from snapping at people, so that’s a good thing, lol.
I still need to do the Donna Summer run and rides but I have a feeling I will love those too!
Lisa @ TechChick Adventures says
I saw that profiles can be set up in Peloton now for different users on the same account. That would have been a good feature when I was using the program! Glad your workouts helped you get through some stressful times.
kookyrunner says
Yup! I think they allow you to have up to 4 profiles per account.
