Happy Sunday! Can you believe we’re already in the 4th month of the year? It was another crazy weather week here, with Spring taking a temporarily vacation, but the sun did peak out a few times.
Here’s how my workouts went this week:
Monday, March 28
House Ride 3/27/22 – Erik (20 minutes)
Warm Up Run 6/14/19 – Matty (10 minutes)
Run + Chest & Back Bootcamp 11/7/19 – Jess (30 minutes)
Run + Bodyweight Bootcamp 11/12/19 – Jess (30 minutes)
Bodyweight Strength 9/1/21 – Jess (10 minutes)
Sometimes I prefer to take the older 30 minute bootcamps because the class is split in two segments – 1 tread and 1 strength. If I don’t feel like going back and forth between the treadmill and the floor, this format works best.
Tuesday, March 29
WHM: Reflection Ride 3/28/22 – Christine (30 minutes)
Women’s History Month Run 3/24/22 – Joslyn (30 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness – Strength (45 minutes)
Women’s History Month Core Strength 3/28/22 (20 minutes)
Joslyn’s WHM run was perfect – very easy paced, great music and stories. OTF class was decent but I was super happy to see two friends that I haven’t seen in a while in class. We used to all take the same class pre-Covid but I’ve only seen them in class a few times since then.
Wednesday, March 30
Warm Up Walk 12/27/21 – Jon (10 minutes)
Run + Glutes & Legs Bootcamp 8/20/19 – Jess (45 minutes)
2010s Hip Hop Ride 5/2/21 – Cliff (30 minutes)
I had more classes stacked, but I had to move this workout to after work so it got cut short. Mentally I was pretty tired too so it wasn’t the best workout, but I was happy to get some movement in.
Thursday, March 31
WHM Two For One Run 3/30/22 – Kirsten & Robin (30 minutes)
Arms & Shoulders Strength 6/2/21 – Jess (10 minutes)
Glutes & Legs Strength 9/23/21 – Jess (10 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness – ESP (45 minutes)
WHM Celebration Yoga Flow 3/20/21 – Ross (30 minutes)
Finished up the 2022 Women’s History Month classes with the Two for One run class. I don’t take too many run classes with Kirsten or Robin but I really enjoyed this class – they had great music and energy throughout the entire run. We had an ESP class for Orangetheory, which is always fun because it’s a taste of everything. On the floor we had ground to press moves and I absolutely loved it because I was able to increase my weight choice.
Friday, April 1
Happiness Meditation 3/16/22 – Chelsea (10 minutes)
Full Body Strength 4/1/22 – Jess (30 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness ESP (45 minutes)
WHM Celebration Yoga Flow 3/7/20 – Ross (45 minutes)
When your birthday falls on a Friday, it’s only right to take the day off work to enjoy a 3-day weekend, and that’s exactly what I did. Kicked off the day with my 600th strength workout, and of course I had to celebrate that milestone with Jess Sims – and even got a great shoutout (hopefully that link works)!
After that strength class, I ended up getting an almost perfect pyramid for my birthday burn workout at OTF. The format of the class was kind of different but I loved it!
Saturday, April 2
Jazmine Sullivan Ride 4/1/22 – Hannah F (15 minutes)
Warm Up Walk 1/3/22 – Joslyn (10 minutes)
Saturday60: Jock Jams 4/2/22 – Jess (60 minutes)
Post-Run Stretch 1/19/21 – Robin (5 minutes)
Pride Yoga Flow 6/13/19 – Anna (30 minutes)
Continued my birthday weekend by celebrating 200 tread bootcamps with Jess. This was an extra special bootcamp because it was part of her 3 class Jock Jams series. I LOVE all of the Jock Jams CDs. They remind me of playing sports in high school and the songs are always high energy. The bootcamp itself was fun but hard (especially the second strength block) but I got an unexpected PR which is always nice š
Sunday, April 3
My legs felt pretty heavy when I woke up so I did a short stack today.
XOXO, Cody 4/30/21 – Cody (30 minutes)
UK Mother’s Day Ride 3/14/21 – Hannah F (30 minutes)
Flash 15: Jock Jams 4/1/22 – Jess (15 minutes)
Summary:
Running – 17.57 miles
Cycle – 31.52 miles
Strength Training – 95 minutes
Bootcamp – 165 minutes
Orangetheory Fitness – 135 minutes
Peloton Artist Series Classes – 548/550
I had a really low key weekend which was much appreciated since I’ve been kind of busy lately. At my house we always pick really silly children’s theme to celebrate birthdays. In the past we’ve done Minions, Avengers and Mickey Mouse just to name a few. It doesn’t help that we live within walking distance to Party City. My birthday theme this year was Minnie Mouse, LOL
…and now for this week’s memes.
That’s it! I hope you had a great week š
Iām linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.

Great memes as always, Kim! My husband shared a different meme about spring/not spring but I forgot to post it. maybe I’ll save it for next month’s tea date.
Glad you enjoyed your birthday with all those milestones! Even though I’m not a decorator or much of a silly person, that celebration really seems to be YOU! Happy Birthday!

Thanks Judy! I always feel bad for the birds this time of year because they must be so confused, lol.
You’re so right, the birthday celebration was definitely fitting for my personality š
Darlene Cardillo says
Love your birthday decorations… so fun.
And those memes – the job one unfortunately is me.
Kudos on all your milestones… you amaze with with all your workouts.
kookyrunner says
The job one is unfortunately me too lately. I am looking forward to having a week off next month.

Awh, what a fun Minnie theme for your special day š I like the idea of March 32nd, LOL…though that “date” looks so weird in print! I did the Jazmine Sullivan ride with Hannah this morning…kind of meh for me, due to the music not being my favorite. I need to try a bike bootcamp class…do those have the same (or similar) format to the tread ones?
kookyrunner says
March 32nd made me laugh too, lol. I agree about the Jazmine Sullivan ride – music was a little too mellow for a ride.
I think you would LOVE the bike bootcamps with Tunde or Jess. They are similar to the tread ones in that you alternate between the bike and floor for 4-6 segments (depending on the length of the class).
Wendy says
Sounds like you had a great birthday–congrats on that pyramid at OTF and your bootcamp PR ! I know you are so stressed with work but at least your workouts are going well! Have a great week!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Wendy! Yes, work isn’t getting any easier, but I feel like I’m managing the stress much better now.
Deborah Brooks says
I am glad that you were able to take the day off for your birthday. I do love the Minnie theme how fun! Another solid week of great classes for you. Well, the Peloton meme is so true!

Thanks Deborah!

Well, it sounds like you had a great birthday! Yes, if you live within walking distance of Party City you have to have a themed birthday! Great job on the 600th strength class.
Hee hee… love the little owl meme.
kookyrunner says
Thanks so much Jenny!
Jessie says
Happy belated birthday! I love the theme š What a fun week!
Jess Sims is one of my favorite strength teachers. Send me any favorites of hers if you have more! Maybe some day I’ll try a Peloton run….
Thanks for sharing the memes. Love the 20-20-20 rule š
kookyrunner says
I wish I could practice the 20-20-20 rule for work, lol.
It’s so hard to pick my favorite Jess Sims strength classes, but my absolute favorite is her 45 minute Gwen Stefani Full Body Strength class. Also all of her Flash 15 classes are great if you are pressed for time and need a quick burn!
Coco says
Happy Birthday! That was an amazing shoutout from Jess! I plan to take that class this week. Nice birthday OTF pyramid too. You nailed it.
How was that Hannah F ride? I am not familiar with that artist ā¦.
kookyrunner says
Thanks Coco! My OTF birthday pyramid made me happy, lol.
The Hannah F ride was just okay…to be honest, I did it as more of a warm up for Jess’ bootcamp.
Michelle says
Yay for the awesome shoutout from Jess! Congrats on hitting those milestones and your PR!
You had some great workouts – hope it helps to balance some of the work stress.
I love that your family celebrates birthdays with kid themes š
kookyrunner says
Thanks! I was so pumped by that shoutout even though she was killing us as usual in class, lol.
Liz Dexter says
Happy birthday!! I am not commenting on a lot of running blog posts this week as I had a slightly crappy week, I did run but in a very exhausted fashion; I was exposed to Covid Saturday a week ago and I wonder if I had a low dose that didn’t show up on testing. Anyway, well done on a strong week and glad you got some fun celebrations, if low-key.
kookyrunner says
Oh no š I’m so sorry to hear that you aren’t feeling well Liz. Please keep resting and hope you feel better soon.
Liz Dexter says
Thank you – I had a fine run this morning and feel OK now so seem to have bounced back – phew!
Marcia says
So glad you enjoyed a long birthday weekend. I love the idea of a crazy party theme. What a great shoutout! I think I could totally go for 20 years in the forest about now! š
kookyrunner says
I really wish I could do the 20-20-20 rule for work, lol. Some quiet time in the forest sounds great!
Shathiso says
I’m guilty of looking at a stupid driver in shock, horror and disgust depending on the day!
Happiest of birthdays to you Kim – I’m so glad you made a long weekend of it!
kookyrunner says
LOL š I usually just throw my hands up when dealing with a bad driver because I can’t believe they are that stupid.
Lisa @ TechChick Adventures says
Happy belated birthday!! So cool you got a shoutout! I did pull off a couple of pranks to my family this April Fools today. Just enough to make me laugh for a bit but nothing too major.
kookyrunner says
I love that you were able to pull off some pranks for April Fools Day!
