Happy Sunday! And just like that, it’s December. I’m kind of in denial that this is the last month of the year. I know that this month will probably fly by as that is what normally happens every December.
Here’s how my workouts went this week:
Monday, November 28
HIIT Run 3/22/20 – Jess (20 minutes)
Saturday60: Hip Hop Bootcamp 11/5/22 – Jess (60 minutes)
Lanebreak: John Mayer (20 minutes)
Lanebreak: Hip Hop Gold Vol 1 (10 minutes)
As expected, the first day back to work was a sh*show complete with an internet outage in my area, so I was very thankful I got this workout done early in the morning. I always enjoy HIIT runs and need to do them more often. I’m not a fast runner by any means but it’s nice to push the pace sometimes. Peloton has a new Lanebreak challenge this week so I tried Lanebreak classes for the first time. Lanebreak is basically a music and gaming experience all rolled into run. You adjust your cadence based on what is on the screen. To be honest, I’m really not a fan. It sounds good in theory but I don’t want gamification for my workout. Also I was slightly annoyed that I did a 20 minute ride that shows up in my workout history, yet none of the points were counted for the challenge. The challenge has bronze, silver and gold levels but I’ll just stop once I hit the bronze level.
Tuesday, November 29
*NSYNC Run 11/18/22 – Marcel M (30 minutes)
T-Pain Lanebreak Ride (15 minutes)
Lil Baby Lanebreak Ride (10 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness (60 minutes)
I can now say that all of the *NSYNC classes were an A+. I will probably re-do them at some point because I enjoyed them that much. Powered through more Lanebreak rides, although these weren’t as bad, maybe because the music was better?
Wednesday, November 30
Taylor Swift Midnights Run 11/26/22 – Susie (30 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness (60 minutes)
Taylor Swift Midnights Ride 11/27/22 – Mayla (30 minutes)
Every month OTF has an “All Out with Aoki” class where the playlists are curated by Steve Aoki. I am glad that these classes are not coming back in 2023 because I don’t like the playlists at all. Plus today’s workout was brutal. I was actually working out next to the head coach at my studio and she even said it was a really hard template, so that’s my validation that I was right, lol.
Thursday, December 1
Taylor Swift Midnights Run 11/26/22 – Marcel M (30 minutes)
Full Body Bootcamp 1/14/20 – Jess (30 minutes)
Latto Lanebreak Ride (10 minutes)
Taylor Swift Midnights Full Body Strength 11/26/22 – Callie (20 minutes)
Used the Latto Lanebreak class to finish up my points to get booze for the challenge. The strength class was pretty good – I didn’t care for the music but I liked the way Callie structured the class.
Friday, December 2
LOL Cody: Holiday Edition Ride 12/1/22 – Cody (30 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness (60 minutes)
Mariah Carey Walk 12/2/22 – Rebecca (30 minutes)
Mariah Carey Barre 12/2/22 – Ally (20 minutes)
The template for the OTF class was hard, but it was still a good class. The LOL Cody ride was pure chaos and it definitely went off the rails at one point – I loved it, haha. I will probably do it again when I need a good laugh because it was hilarious. I did the Mariah Carey walk to finish off my miles for #3for31 and the barre class wasn’t half bad – I didn’t hate it so that’s an improvement!
Saturday, December 3
Hip Hop Bootcamp 2/28/20 – Jess (30 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness (60 minutes)
Holiday Ride 12/2/22 – Robin (30 minutes)
On a scale of difficulty 1-10, the OTF class was probably around a 9 or 10. Definitely in my top 5 hardest classes, and it also didn’t help that the AC in the room wasn’t working properly. I actually had to step outside during one of the transitions to get some cool air – it was horrible. The holiday ride was a lot of fun and a good way to flush out my legs after the bating they took in the OTF class.
Sunday, December 4
Holiday Run 11/27/22 – Marcel M (30 minutes)
Extra 10: Run 11/14/22 – Jermaine (10 minutes)
Mariah Carey Bodyweight Strength 12/2/22 – Marcel M (20 minutes)
Mariah Carey Ride 12/2/22 – Mila (30 minutes)
Mariah Carey Cool Down Ride 12/2/22 – Hannah F (10 minutes)
The holiday run was perfect – great holiday playlist and no crazy inclines or speeds. All the Mariah Carey classes were great too. I really enjoyed my stack today.
Summary:
Running – 22.35 miles
Cycle – 41.92 miles
Bootcamp – 120 minutes
Strength Training – 60 minutes
Orangetheory Fitness – 240 minutes
Peloton Artist Series Classes – 881/891
OTF #12DaysofFitness started on December 1. At first I thought it would be cool to do all 12 days. Then I came to my senses and decided that was insane, lol. For the challenge you have to complete 6 out of 12 classes, and that’s a good number…definitely more realistic.
Robin’s #3for31 challenge also started on December 1. For this challenge you can either do 30 minutes of activity or run/jog/walk 3 miles every day in December. You can break up the activity throughout the day, which works perfect for me when I do my OTF classes since I never get 3 miles on the treadmill during class. I think this is my third time doing this challenge and I look forward to it every time. It’s such a great way to stay accountable, especially during the business of the holiday season.
…and now for this week’s memes/funny tweets.

Thanks for sending this one Wendy!

Thanks to Deb for sending me this one. I laughed out loud!
That’s it! I hope you had a great week π
Iβm linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.
In Case You Missed It
Tuesday Topics: Volunteering During the Holidays
Omg those memes! I am laughing so hard! Cheers to minter! I’m always amazed with the way you’re able to balance all the Pelo with OTF. So great! Now I need to go do all the NSYNC stuff!
The meme with Kermit made me LOL. I literally have no desire to work this month but yet there’s so much to be done!
Thanks Marcia! Some days it’s easier to balance OTF and Peloton workouts but other days i just do what i can lol.
your memes have me laughing out loud this week. The Starbucks one is so true. I remember in Vegas thinking -can you people just order a regular coffee and speed this shit show up?! You got into he lane break classes too? I love your variety. Always love the 3 for 31 challenge great motivation on
The Starbucks meme actually made me laugh out loud because that’s the way I felt when I ordered my first drink from there,
The lanebreak classes aren’t my thing but you know I always try to do all the challenges lol.
Ha! Love the memes. I hadn’t really thought about all the bird gifts π
OOF that sounds like a rough return to work. Glad you got that workout in early!
Thanks Jessie! Yup, it was a hard return back to work last week but thankfully that was the only really crazy insane day.
I love your memes. All of them.
Those are some challenging classes! Look at you keeping up with them.
Here’s to 2023 problems!
Thanks Jenn! The memes were definitely pretty hilarious this week. Much needed for the craziness of December.
I guess Peloton must want to attract younger people–maybe that’s why the gaming interface? I feel as if I’m being left behind, lol
Nice job this week!
I think you’re 100% right about that. I am sure that Lanebreak appeals to a much younger audience due to the gaming aspect.
Ha, I agree with Wendy. Maybe that’s why I quit Peloton- I’m too old for it! Those OTF classes sound hard! Does anyone do all 12 of the days?
Love those memes- poor Kermit.
Awwe you’re not too old for Peloton at all! It’s really for everyone π
I know a few people that will do all 12 days of fitness for OTF – God bless them lol
I think the Cody LOL’s have been hilarious. I did his Holiday LOL ride Friday morning, and was almost crying at times because it was so funny. I did his and Emma’s Mariah Carey ride this morning…though she’s extremely talented, I’m not a huge fan of her music, so the ride was a bit #meh for me. I didn’t do all of the NSYNC workouts, but the ones I did do were good. nice memes π
I agree – I enjoyed the LOL Cody rides but the Holiday edition was really bananas LOL.
I did the Mariah Carey 2 for 1 ride this morning and that it was okay – I’m a fan of Mariah but not a superfan
Those last two memes! Hilarious! Sounds like you put in a lot of hard efforts this week Kim — great job!
Thanks Judy! The memes were really good this week – I laughed out loud ad a few of them.
I was exhausted reading about all your workouts. Youβre amazing.
That Starbucks meme is so true.
Thanks so much Darlene!
Love this week’s memes – especially the first and last one π
I couldn’t figure out the appeal of the lanebreak concept – like you said I don’t need the gamification. You were good to stick it out! Sounds like the OTF classes were off the chain this week – great job getting them done!
yeah the Lanebreak just didn’t do it for me – i found myself getting annoyed at certain points, lol.
I loved those memes!! Especially the one about Starbucks, and fat cells. π
You’ve squeezed in a lot of workouts this week! I must say I don’t know much about these workout programs, but I’ve seen Peloton being mentioned in many of these blogs. But do you really have to listen to the music if you don’t like it? Or is it a guided workout over video?
The Starbucks meme makes me laugh out loud!
A majority of the Peloton classes are with instructors so while you can hear the music, you more so hear the instructors speaking, but they have Lanebreak and Scenic rides for the bike where it’s just music and no instruction.
Wow on Saturday’s difficult OTF class! That’s saying a lot if it was one of your top five toughest. Agreed, I don’t think I’d enjoy the Lanebreak challenge. I’m clueless on gaming. LOL
Great memes as always – I thought you’d love the fat cells one! I LOL’d too when I saw it.
Omg yes on Starbucks. Also the order because heaven forbid you say soy tall instead of tall soy…
“Used the Latto Lanebreak class to finish up my points to get booze for the challenge.”
I wish bronze came with booze. And yes, music makes such a difference
