Happy Sunday. I hope that everyone had a great week. The summer heat came to visit us this weekend so you know I’m not a happy camper, lol.
Here’s a rundown of my workouts from this week:
Monday, May 17
Peloton Bootcamp Warm Up 2/26/21 – Rebecca (10 minutes)
Peloton 90s Bootcamp 5/2/21 – Rebecca (30 minutes)
Peloton Trap Bootcamp 4/24/19 – Jess (30 minutes)
Peloton APIHM Celebration Ride 5/3/21 – Sam (30 minutes)
Peloton Restorative Yoga 4/20/21 – Ross (10 minutes)
Absolutely enjoyed all of these classes! Both bootcamps had really good playlists and the strength sections were great – simple, yet super effective moves. I also found 2 new songs to download thanks to the APIHM ride. I love when classes can introduce me to new music that i like. I think the restorative yoga may have been better to do right before bed vs after my workout because it made me a little sleepy, lol.
Tuesday, May 18
Peloton Intervals Run 8/26/19 – Jess (30 minutes)
Peloton APIHM Celebration Full Body Strength 5/10/21 – Selena (20 minutes)
Peloton APIHM Classical Ride 5/12/21 – Christine (20 minutes)
Peloton APIHM: Classical Cool Down Ride 5/13/21 – Emma (10 minutes)
Peloton Restorative Yoga 4/20/21 – Denis (10 minutes)
The intervals run was just what I needed since my back has felt a little wonky lately and I loved the mix of running and walking. The strength class was great because it truly offered a full body workout with equal time given to working the upper and lower body.
Wednesday, May 19
Peloton APIHM Icons Walk 5/11/21 – Jess (30 minutes)
Peloton Full Body Strength 10/23/19 – Jess (15 minutes)
Peloton APIHM Celebration Ride 5/11/21 – Leanne (20 minutes)
Peloton APIHM K-Pop Ride 5/16/21 – Ally (20 minutes)
Peloton APIHM Bollywood Ride 5/16/21 – Ally (20 minutes)
During the Icons walk, Jess focused on the story of Malala Yousafzai, a Pakistani activist for female education and the youngest Nobel Prize winner. I knew a little about her background but learned much more about her during the walk. It was truly inspiring.
Thursday, May 20
Peloton 90s Fun Run 6/17/19 – Jess (45 minutes)
Peloton APIHM Celebration Ride 5/3/21 – Emma (30 minutes)
Peloton APIHM Bollywood Ride 5/17/21 – Sam (30 minutes)
Peloton APIHM Celebration Yoga Flow 5/10/21 – Chelsea (30 minutes)
Loved the playlist for the 90’s fun run. It was a great start to my morning. Sam’s Bollywood ride was super fun! The music was great and he also provided some dance moves. I really like his personality and vibe.
Friday, May 21
Peloton Verzuz Run 5/19/21 – Matty (30 minutes)
Peloton Verzuz Ride 5/19/21 – Kendall (30 minutes)
Peloton Core Strength 3/25/21 – Jess (10 minutes)
Peloton HIIT Cardio Warm Up 5/3/21 – Jess (5 minutes)
APIHM Celebration HIIT Cardio 5/20/21 – Adrian (30 minutes)
The Verzuz classes were…okay. Absolutely nothing against Kendall and Matty, but music from Alicia Keys and John Legend is more in the R&B realm and it just didn’t get me pumped up or motivated to workout. On the other hand, I really enjoyed Adrian’s HIIT cardio class. His HIIT cardio classes seem more like strength classes to me so that’s probably why I like them, lol.
Saturday, May 22
Peloton Remix Run 12/29/20 – Matty (20 minutes)
Peloton APIHM Celebration Run 5/7/21 – Selena (20 minutes)
Peloton HIIT Run 7/4/19 – Jess (20 minutes)
Peloton Post-Run Stretch 4/15/21 – Jess (10 minutes)
Peloton Bodyweight Strength 5/21/19 – Jess (20 minutes)
Peloton Core Strength 5/2/21 – Irene (10 minutes)
I was glad that I was able to get outside before it got too hot. I think we hit 86 degrees before noon but luckily it wasn’t too humid. Originally I was going to go out for 40 minutes but decided to add on another 20 minute run since I felt fine. Followed up my run with a stretch (that felt awesome!) and two strength classes. The bodyweight strength class was very good. Jess picked moves that made for a solid workout, but also got your heart rate up as well.
Sunday, May 23
Peloton Melbourne at Night Run (10 minutes)
Peloton Full Body Strength Warm Up 2/3/21 – Jess (10 minutes)
Peloton Verzuz Full Body Strength 5/20/21 – Jess (45 minutes)
Peloton Bring the Heat HIIT Cardio 11/27/20 – Adrian (20 minutes)
Peloton Raveena Slow Flow 5/20/21 – Aditi (30 minutes)
I am still loving the scenic runs! I made it a power walk instead of a run but it was still fun and I now want to visit Melbourne. I’ve always wanted to visit Sydney but now I’ve added Melbourne on my list. The combo of the 45 minute strength class and 20 minute HIIT cardio class was ROUGH! This was my first time taking a 45 minute strength class and it was good, but hard, especially the last 15 minutes. Adrian’s HIIT cardio class was spicy from start to finish. My legs are toast! I welcome the yoga class I will take later on today.
Total Weekly Mileage: 16 miles
Summary: 8 runs*, 2 bootcamps, 9 cycle, 4 yoga and 8 strength/HIIT classes.
*I include running from my OTF workouts, boot camp classes and stand alone runs.
Peloton Artist Series Classes Progress – 271/272
The heat is on this weekend – literally! We went from semi-Spring to Summer weather overnight. I can do without the 90 degree temps in May. I really hope this doesn’t mean we’re in for a super hot Summer π
On Saturday I was able to run a lot of errands, including finally getting over to a car wash to get all the pollen off my car, and do a bunch of stuff around the house. We had our Peloton treadmill checked out last weekend just to make sure that everything was okay. Mainly we wanted to make sure that the belt was working fine and that the noise level was normal (which it was) so we decided to keep the treadmill. Also we don’t have kids or pets so the safety risks are minimal. Peloton also introduced a software update for the treadmill so that it now requires you to enter a 4 digit passcode before the treadmill can be used. I think this is a really good added safety feature which will hopefully lead to less accidents.
…and now for this week’s memes
That’s it! I hope you had a great week π
Iβm linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.

Judy @ Chocolaterunsjudy says
Sounds like a good week, Kim! Yes, the switch in temps was a bit much, for sure.
LOL about the 70s appliances. So true! My mom had a fridge in our basement that was from the 60s, maybe even 50s, I think. She used the thing for decades!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Judy! Yes the extreme heat this weekend was very unexpected – I wasn’t ready!
I guarantee that those appliances from the 70s are still working to this day. We have a microwave in the basement from 1992 that stick works perfectly fine, lol.
Lisa @ Mile by Mile says
Great job with your workouts this week! I can’t believe how hot it got so quickly. But Im pretty sure this happens every year. Love those memes! I was born in 83 and can relate to being in between all those generations:)
kookyrunner says
Right?! The heat really did come outta nowhere. I was not prepared for it at all.
83 baby here as well π
Kimberly Hatting says
Ha ha ha…the Zoom call “movie LOL Your workouts all sound fun, albeit intense. You know I LOVE the summer heat, but Momma N kind of blindsided us this week…always something with her, isn’t it? Glad you had a great week π
kookyrunner says
The Zoom meme is still so funny to me. It’s going to be interesting to see how people adjust to in person meetings again after having so many Zoom meetings.
Momma N and I are not on speaking terms after her heatwave this weekend lol
Jessie says
Summer weather is in Minneapolis too! It’s crazy how warm it is in May!
Glad all is well with the Peloton tread, that’s a nice safety feature they added.
Great week Kim! Love the tweet about the conspiracy to get us to wear bras and real pants again. No thanks!
kookyrunner says
Seems like it was warm many places this week!
That tweet still makes me laugh. I have enjoyed the freedom of not having to wear a bra on the days that I don’t have video calls for work, lol.
Deborah Brooks says
Love the memes this week very spot on! As always I am so impressed by the variety of your workouts. I also did the restorative yoga this week to get the badge lol. I always fall asleep during those!
kookyrunner says
I love how we all did the restorative yoga for the badge, lol. I’m actually glad that I took the class because I learned these classes are good to do at night, just like the meditations.
Coco says
The heat is on here too, LOL. How was that APIHM classical ride? I will have to check out the K-Pop Ride. I went to Melbourne for work many, many years ago, but we didnβt go out at night. With the jet lag we could barely stay awak through dinner. π
kookyrunner says
The instant heatwave this weekend was crazy! That heat really came outta nowhere.
The APIHM Classical rides were…manageable, lol. I’m not a fan of classical music but in my quest to do all the Peloton classes that have badges, I had to take the classes, lol.
Michelle D. says
I always love the class stacks you put together – I’ve bookmarked some of these classes!
I was not a fan of the overnight flip of the switch to Summer either – 90 degrees in May is just never a good thing!
Love that conspiracy theory meme LOL π
kookyrunner says
That’s great! I love that I can give people ideas for classes to take. I usually plan out my workouts for the week on Sundays and review them to make sure I have a lot of variety.
You know my feeling on the heat and Summer. I am not happy, lol.
Jenny says
Hee hee… healthcare hero juice. Love it.
Just reading through your workouts always makes my head spin. You really have a great variety. Sounds like a great week in spite of the heat!
kookyrunner says
That was one of my favorite memes of the week, lol.
Thanks! I try to get in a bunch of everything when I plan my weekly workouts on Sundays.
Marcia says
Oh I’m glad you don’t have to have your mill recalled. What a cluster for Peloton! Seems like it got hot everytwhere this week. Yowza! Great variety of workouts Kim!
kookyrunner says
Yeah this treadmill recall must be a nightmare for them. I don’t envy the people that work in their customer service department – yikes π
Zenaida Arroyo says
Awesome week for you! I bookmarked Jess’ fun run class and while doing so found another one. There aren’t that many classes with 80s or 90s fun music. Thanks! I know what you mean about the heat. Ugh! That is interesting that you had someone check out the treadmill. Do you know if they will also do it for bikes? I feel like thee is something off with mine. One of the pedals makes a clicking sound. When I looked it up, it was suggested to tighten the screws on the shoes and the bike. I did. Sound is still there.
kookyrunner says
You can definitely call Peloton to have someone come out to check your bike. My friend was having an issue with one of her pedals and someone came out to change it for her.
Cari says
LOL masks/bras/makeup. I had to “dress up” to go museum ing twice and it’s hard. Also, the heat doesn’t help. Preloading that Jess 90s run, somehow I’d missed that. As always, thanks for feeding my queue.
I borrowed mom’s car for the Rochester road trip and oh it so needed a bath between the pollen, shag flies and birds. She has a sun roof so that made car wash even more fun
kookyrunner says
I haven’t worn makeup in so long that I hope I still know how to apply it when I wear it again, lol.
So happy you’re going to add the Jess run to your queue – the playlist is super fun!
RenΓ©e @runlaugheatpie says
Great workout week Kim! Glad to hear your Peloton tread is ok and that is a great idea about entering a code!
and yeah thing about going back to work – so many questions!! Is sportsgear now considered acceptable work attire? Do I *have* to do my hair? What do you mean I can’t nap under my desk after lunch? Wait you expect me to put clothes on before 12? My pajamas were working just fine thank you very much! Can I run home and start the laundry and hang out with my cats on the sofa during my morning break?
kookyrunner says
Thanks Renee! I was also happy about the tread – it was reassuring to get it checked out just to make sure everything was okay.
I’m somewhat glad that I will continue to work from hoe because I honestly don’t know when I would feel comfortable being back in the office with a bunch of people. I also relate to what you said about sportswear as that’s pretty much what I’ve been living in for the past year and a half lol.
Lisa @ TechChick Adventures says
Thanks for the funnies this week π Isn’t it crazy the amount of pollen on cars? And how fast it gets there?? My son and husband were sneezing up a storm every time they did yard work lately. Me, I’m just refusing to do it. LOL! Great workouts this week!
kookyrunner says
So happy you enjoyed the memes this week π I feel like my car turns green overnight because of all the pollen – it’s crazy!
Liz Dexter says
Well done for a strong week and sorry about the heat. None of that over here!!
Do you think Jess is best for runner-specific strength training? Who do you recommend for stretches in particular? I need to get all that going properly as I have signed up for a race in October and I can’t keep doing nothing but running and random short Peleton yoga or stretch things!
kookyrunner says
Thanks so much Liz!
Jess is my favorite instructor, especially for her bootcamps and strength classes, but for runner-specific strength I would go to Becs or Matt. There is actually a strength for runners collection available on the app under the collections tab. For stretches I love Adrian, Matty and Jess.
Liz Dexter says
Oh that’s brilliant, thank you so much – I had not explored Collections. Thank you!
kookyrunner says
No problem, and please let me know if you have any other questions!
Jenn says
OMG. zoom calls ARE nightmares. I am sitting in on another virtual conference tomorrow and I am so pissed. It has to be done, but I don’t have the bandwidth.
I bet Bollywood music makes for a fun workout.
kookyrunner says
I’m definitely over the video conference calls but I am trying to accept that they are a part of my work life now. I try not to schedule too many of them in one day to help keep my sanity lol.
I love Bollywood music and it’s so fun for a workout!
