Happy Sunday! I hope that everyone has a great week. This was a rough week for me. Overall I just felt really tired and overwhelmed with everything. I felt tired physically and mentally. It could be work, or all the craziness in the world, or my body needs a rest – I’m not really sure, maybe it’s a combination of all three? Luckily I was still able to get in my all of my workouts.
Here’s how my workouts went this week:
Monday, September 14
Orangetheory Fitness – Strength (45 minutes)
Peloton XOXO, Cody Ride 9/10/20 – Cody (30 minutes)
I haven’t done an afternoon OTF workout in a while so I was kind of dreading the workout all day but it was actually pretty good! The XOXO ride with Cody was one of the funniest things I’ve ever experienced. I laughed for a majority of the time during the ride – he absolutely cracks me up and it’s just what I needed on a Monday.
Tuesday, September 15
Peloton Power Zone Ride 1/9/20 – Denis (45 minutes)
Peloton Wyclef Jean Run 9/12/20 – Chase (30 minutes)
This was a harder power zone class because of the longer intervals – there were 2 10 minute intervals (!) and some shorter intervals. It was hard to do a run after the cycle class because my legs felt like jelly, but I ran at a slower pace to get it done. I hope that this type of training will pay off for the OTF Dri Tri next weekend.
Wednesday, September 16
Orangetheory Fitness – ESP (45 minutes)
Peloton Power Zone Endurance 1/27/20 – Olivia (30 minutes)
I was super tired which made getting up for the OTF class hard. In fact, I was still yawning as I was walking into the studio, but the workout quickly woke me up! Lots of sprints on the treadmill, fast to moderate rowing blocks, pulsing squats, jumping jacks, etc – it was hard, but gave me the boost I needed to get through the rest of the day.
Thursday, September 17
Peloton J. Balvin Run 9/15/20 – Robin (30 minutes)
Peloton J. Blavin Full Body Strength 9/16/20 – Rebecca (30 minutes)
Peloton J. Balvin Ride 9/16/20 – Jess K. (30 minutes)
J. Balvin is a Hispanic Reggaeton artist. I only know a handful of his songs but thankfully I was introduced to SO many more of his songs through all of these classes. I didn’t really care for the strength and cycle classes but I still got in a good workout!
Friday, September 18
Peloton Power Walk 5/22/19 – Jess (20 minutes)
Peloton Bike Bootcamp: Bodyweight 9/15/20 – Jess (30 minutes)
Peloton Power Zone Ride 1/20/20 – Christine (30 minutes)
When my alarm went off I had no desire to get up and workout so I decided to sleep in. Luckily I didn’t have many meetings so I was able to get in a workout during lunch. I tried my first bike bootcamp class and it was pretty cool. I still prefer the regular bootcamp classes but I like these because they are something different, and it’s so nice to see Jess on the bike!
Saturday, September 19
Peloton Power Zone Endurance Ride 2/8/20 – Matt (60 minutes)
Peloton 90’s Bootcamp 9/19/20 – Jess (60 minutes)
On Saturdays I usually do my longest workouts as a replacement for what would normally be my long run day. This combo was spicy! The PZ Endurance ride wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be because a majority of the ride took place in lower zones, but I was still a sweaty mess when I finished. I had about 45 minutes in-between classes so I hydrated and stretched before taking the #Saturday60 bootcamp. You know how much I love the 90s so I used the awesome playlist to push me through another #deathbyJess class.
Sunday, September 20
Orangetheory Fitness – Strength (45 minutes)
This was a hard, but really great class. No walking recoveries on the treadmill which started to feel like torture towards the end but it was good prep for the Dri Tri on Saturday. I was going to do a 30 minute bootcamp once I got back home but I felt like the class was more than a good enough workout!
Total Weekly Mileage: 13.4 miles
Summary: 7 runs*, 6 cycle, 2 bootcamp, and 4 OTF/strength/HITT classes.
*I include running from my OTF workouts, boot camp classes and stand alone runs.
Peloton Artist Series Classes Progress – 138/139
Grade This Week β A
Another hard and very sad loss this week with the passing of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, the Notorious RBG. What an amazing, intelligent and remarkable woman. My words won’t do her justice – I was so upset when the news broke on Friday night. The hits just keep coming this year and it doesn’t seem like they are going to stop any time soon. I’m just over all the sadness and craziness.
In other news, I decided to decorate my WFH station so that it looked a little more like Fall. That area looked a little ‘blah’ so I wanted to spruce it up a little bit. Hoping this may help break me out of whatever funk I’m currently dealing with..
…and now for this week’s memes π
That’s it! I hope you had a great week π
Iβm linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.

Judy @ Chocolaterunsjudy says
So sorry you were feeling so down this week, Kim. It hasn’t been an easy year for anyone, and sometimes it just all catches up to you
You still certainly got in plenty of workouts! Isn’t amazing how good we usually feel if we just start?
I forgot about the bike bootcamps, but with you & Deborah both mentioning, I just might remember now. π Love the little pumpkins!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Judy π Yeah, I think everything just hot me all at once this week and I still haven’t recovered. I really hate feeling like this and hope to be more like myself soon.
The bike bootcamps are cool – I’ve always loved the combo of cardio and strength, especially in one class.
Wendy says
I’m not surprised you’re feeling low this week–I mean how much are we supposed to take before something gives? Hang in there Kim–give yourself grace and you will feel better. I swear, we need to all plan a blogger reunion or something for 2021. Your posts and memes have given me life!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Wendy. I’m definitely trying to give myself grace in order to get in a better headspace. This is the first time since everything has started that I’ve felt really down so I knew it was going to happen sooner or later.
Yes, we REALLY need to have a blogger reunion in 2021 if at all possible. We’re long overdue!!
Beckett @ Birchwood Pie says
I feel you so hard with this one! Mentally I’m in a decent place with the world events but I was physically exhausted this week and had to back off. You still got in some killer workouts and more importantly (for us anyway), your memes are still on point!
kookyrunner says
It’s good to know that other people are feeling the same way! I think that once I can get back on track mentally, I won’t feel as tried physically, hopefully!
Melissa says
Good luck with the fatigue and funk. The state of the world is enough of an explanation. Though as always i love the memes!!! great workouts this week despite it all.
kookyrunner says
Thanks Melissa!
Marcia says
OMG that drink when you want meme! Truth! Our nation is at such a low place and I suspect it’s only going to get worse leading into the election. So many seem to be filled with so much hate. It’s truly draining. I got “some” pumpkins today but I think I need more!
kookyrunner says
That meme was so funny to me. It’s odd because I think I have been drinking less since Covid hit, lol. I was never a big drinker, just sometimes on the weekends, but even that frequency has gone down. Maybe ice cream replaced my wine..lol.
Michelle @ Running with Attitude says
I’m with you on feeling so drained. Learning about RBG was just about too much for me on top of everything else 2020 has decided to serve up. Sending lots of hugs your way my friend.
You had a killer week of workouts – perhaps your due a rest day?
Your memes have once again made me smile – especially that drink one…so true! LOL!
kookyrunner says
The drinking meme is amazing, lol.
Thanks for the hugs my friend! I think I might need a rest day at some point – I recently realized that I haven’t had a true rest day in a while…
Deborah Brooks says
I definitely have weeks like that myself I think we all do. You definitely got in some great workouts though. Hope you have a better week this week!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Deborah! I hope this week will be better too!
Zenaida Arroyo says
Oh I know what you mean. It was one of those weeks. Hope it gets better.
I’ve only heard one of J Balvin’s songs. I have bookmarked the J Balvin Ride but have not taken it. One day.
I miss Cody! Think one day he would do running classes?
kookyrunner says
I’m not sure if Cody runs but I would love it if he was a running instructor!
Coco says
You did a lot of double workouts for someone with low energy! I think itβs the combination of everything that is dragging us down. RBGβs passing was a gut punch for sure. And the news barely broke before the nasty political fight started. Make sure you take care of yourself!
kookyrunner says
The political fight that started 5 minutes after her death really upset me. I knew it was going to happen, but it just felt like no one took time to grieve the loss of this amazing woman. It was all very frustrating and sad.
Kimberly Hatting says
Your workouts always look (and sound) so tough, but also fun. Sorry for the frustrating week; hoping thing feel better this week. Hey…you’re getting your Fall weather, that ought to feel really good π
kookyrunner says
Thanks #kimtwin. I do enjoy workouts that push me because I feel like that’s the only way I can get better, especially when it comes to strength training!
Lisa @ Mile by Mile says
Sorry its been a tough week. I think all the stress of the year can really wear on you after awhile! Love the fall decorations at your workspace.
kookyrunner says
You’re so right Lisa. I think everything just caught up with me last week. Thankfully today was a better day and I think the Fall decorations at my workspace were fun to look at throughout the day and took my mind off some things.
Jessie says
What a week. Our puppy Ruth was named after RBG. She’s RGB. We’re all so sad. It’s been a week. Glad you’re being honest about it and hoping next week is better.
kookyrunner says
Thanks Jessie. I totally forgot that Ruth was named after RBG π Last week was definitely a hard week, but I hope that this week will be better.
Liz Dexter says
THANK YOU. I have had a terribly tired week this week and had a real struggle bus run yesterday, dragging myself round 8 miles, whining all the way. At least good company and canals but argh. I have another 8 miler in a minute and hoping that will go better, otherwise I feel sorry for Claire.
I’m glad you had a lie -in when you felt you needed to but please rest up a little and listen to your body.
Love your pumpkins! I saw some real ones for sale at the boatyard yesterday!
kookyrunner says
I’m sorry that you had a rough week too Liz. Fingers crossed that this week is better for both of us!
Great job powering through your runs last week.
Lisa @ TechChick Adventures says
LOL on the 2020 drinking sign! Right? I hope your week is going better. Sometimes sleeping in is the way to go. When the days get chilly, it’s hard for me to get up and going. I decorated my house for fall this past weekend. It did pick up my mood! Yours looks cute.
kookyrunner says
I also find it harder to get up super early as the weather gets colder! It’s so much easier to snuggle in bed, lol.
Jenn says
I love it when you call your workouts spicy! That’s so great!
Your decorating is cute! I am starting to work on that here, and it’s making me feel a little better.
kookyrunner says
LoL π I got that term from Jess Sims – she says it a lot and it always makes me laugh!
