Happy Sunday! I hope that everyone had a great week. Although busy, I enjoyed my staycation and week off work.
Here’s how my workouts went this week.
Monday, July 5
AFO Run: Nas 7/3/21 – Jess (20 minutes)
AFO Cool Down Run: Nas 7/3/21 – Chase (10 minutes)
AFO Warm Up Ride: Nas 7/3/21 – Alex (10 minutes)
AFO Ride: Nas 7/3/21 – Olivia (15 minutes)
AFO Ride: Demi Lovato 7/2/21 – Kendall (15 minutes)
AFO Arms: Demi Lovato 7/2/21 – Kendall (10 minutes)
AFO Bodyweight Strength: Demi Lovato 7/2/21 – Callie (20 minutes)
Lower Body Stretch 6/28/21 – Robin (10 minutes)
I’m still working my way through the All For One Peloton classes this week. I didn’t see any live rides on the schedule that I wanted to do, so I did Olivia’s Nas ride as my 600th cycle class. I lost count of all the high fives I got from other Peloton members while on the ride – it was really nice and the class was good too. Overall I enjoyed most of the Nas and Demi Lovato classes except the bodyweight strength class. I felt there was too much downtime inbetween sets, especially for a 20 minute class.
Tuesday, July 6
Orangetheory Fitness – ESP (60 minutes)
AFO Walk + Run: Black Coffee 7/3/21 – Jess K. (20 minutes)
AFO Ride: Black Coffee 7/3/21 – Tunde (20 minutes)
AFO Yoga Flow: Black Coffee 7/3/21 – Mariana (20 minutes)
Besides the brutal treadmill block, I enjoyed another ESP Orangetheory workout. The floor block allowed for lifting heavy so that’s just what I did. Paired my OTF workout with a few more AFO Peloton classes. I had never heard of Black Coffee before doing these classes and I’m now a fan! Based on the name, I thought it was a group but Black Coffee is actually a DJ and singer.
Wednesday, July 7
Zion National Park Scenic Walk (30 minutes)
AFO Ride: Sturgill Simpson 7/1/21 – Denis (15 minutes)
AFO Ride: The Tragically Hip 7/1/21 – Emma (15 minutes)
Go Canada! Ride 7/1/21 – Leanne (30 minutes)
Flash 15 1/15/21 – Jess (15 minutes)
Hips Stretch 10/31/18 – Selena (5 minutes)
I did a little bit of everything today. I like to do the scenic runs (as walks) as it makes me feel like I’m on vacation, lol. I did not enjoy the Sturgill Simpson ride as it’s just not the type of music I enjoy, but the other rides weren’t too bad. You can never go wrong with a Flat 15 with Jess if you want a quick and effective strength workout!
Thursday, July 8
Orangetheory Fitness – Strength/Power (45 minutes)
AFO Run: Thomas Rhett 7/2/21 – Matt (20 minutes)
AFO Ride: Thomas Rhett 7/2/21 – Hannah C. (20 minutes)
AFO Ride: Carly Pearce 7/2/21 – Matt (15 minutes)
Core Strength 5/5/21 – Olivia (5 minutes)
AFO Full Body Stretch: Thomas Rhett 7/2/21 – Matt (10 minutes)
AFO Yoga Flow: Carly Pearce 7/2/21 – Ross (20 minutes)
The OTF class was a little odd because it was a strength/power day (they normally don’t combine types of workouts). Also it was a full class and I just felt like I didn’t have enough room to do what I needed to do on the floor. I’ll admit that I didn’t hate the Thomas Rhett classes. I’m not a country music fan but I enjoyed most of the songs that Hannah and Matt played for their classes.
Friday, July 9
AFO Ride: Major Lazer 7/2/21 – Hannah F. (30 minutes)
AFO Run: Major Lazer 7/2/21 – Jess K. (30 minutes)
AFO Core Strength: Major Lazer 7/2/21 – Olivia (30 minutes)
AFO Yoga Flow: Major Lazer 7/2/21 – Aditi (30 minutes)
Originally I was supposed to go to OTF in the morning but Tropical Storm Elsa had other plans. It was raining very hard and there was lots of flooding around the city. The news actually advised people to stay home if possible until the rain stopped around noon. It was so weird because the morning weather was really bad and then the sun was shining bright around noon – Mother Nature is weird.
Luckily I was able to book an OTF class for Sunday so I just swapped workouts and did Sunday’s workout which consisted of the Peloton Major Lazer classes which I really enjoyed! I will admit that I was a little worried about the 30 minute core class, especially with Olivia, but it honestly wasn’t that bad!
Saturday, July 10
AFO Ride: Robin Schulz 7/3/21 – Erik (30 minutes)
Core Strength 5/2/21 – Emma (20 minutes)
90s Bootcamp 7/10/21 – Jess (60 minutes)
AFO Full Body Stretch: Rosalia 7/2/21 – Erik (10 minutes)
AFO Yoga Flow: Alice Coltrane 7/1/21 – Chelsea (30 minutes)
I wasn’t familiar with Robin Schulz before taking the cycle class but I enjoyed the music. It kind of had a dance music vibe. I always enjoy Emma’s core classes because they focus on basic core moves that always have my abs on fire. The playlist for the 90s bootcamp was so good! I was too busy singing along to notice my sweat pile on the floor, lol.
Sunday, July 11
Orangetheory Fitness – Endurance (45 minutes)
AFO Ride: Rosalia 7/2/21 – Cody (20 minutes)
AFO Ride: Tina Turner 7/3/21 – Ally (20 minutes)
AFO Cool Down Ride: Tina Turner 7/3/21 – Ally (5 minutes)
AFO Arms: Tina Turner 7/3/21 – Ally (10 minutes)
AFO Core Strength: Rosalia 7/2/21 – Erik (10 minutes)
AFO Power Yoga: Rosalia 7/2/21 – Mariana (20 minutes)
My chart was a little wacky for OTF but it was a great endurance day workout. It was nice to have a day off from running on inclines. The Tina Turner classes were good, especially the arms class. You use 2-3lb weights but it’s a total arm burn since there are no breaks. The Rosalia classes were decent but I wasn’t a fan of the music.
Total Weekly Mileage: 15.4 miles
Summary: 8 runs*, 1 bootcamp, 14 cycle, 5 yoga and 11 OTF/strength/HIIT classes.
*I include running from my OTF workouts, boot camp classes and stand alone runs.
Peloton Artist Series Classes Progress – 341/361
I will finish up the Peloton All For One classes next week. It’s been super fun working my way through them and discovering new artists.
My dad had a few follow up appointments this week and luckily they all went well! The neurologist was really pleased with his progress and mentioned that he may be able to get back to driving in the next few weeks. I’m just so thankful that his recovery continues to go well and that he is feeling better. I’ll probably always worry about his health but it’s always reassuring to hear good news from doctors.
…and now for this week’s memes
That’s it! I hope you had a great week π
Iβm linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.

Thanks Lisa!

I do love all the variety you share with us each week… the workouts, the artists and the music. WOW! It would be tough to get bored with any of that π Side note, our youngest daughter saw Thomas Rhett at the Iowa State Fair a few years ago…she totally was in love with him (back then) LOL
kookyrunner says
Thanks #kimtwin! I try to keep things interesting, especially since I’m not currently training for a race and enjoying lower mileage. That’s a cool story about Thomas Rhett!
Jessie says
Zero stars, love it π
You are the queen of stacking so many classes! I’m just dipping my foot into Peloton strength, but so far I like it. And the stretching classes!
kookyrunner says
Yup, totally zero stars lol. So glad that you’re liking the Peloton classes so far. I think that their strength classes are some of the strongest classes on the platform.
Marcia says
Great variety of workouts for you this week. Awesome news for your dad. I’ll bet he’ll be super happy to be able to drive again. I’m going now to check out Black Coffee. With a name like that, he has to be good!
kookyrunner says
I always loved the unique names that artists come up with. Black coffee is definitely one of my favorite names lol.
Deborah Brooks says
wow you got in so many Peloton classes! I hope you enjoyed your time off from work. Have a great week ahead
kookyrunner says
Peloton has really been spoiling us lately with all the available classes!
Chocolaterunsjudy says
Glad you seem to be enjoying your staycation Kim! Getting back to driving would be so awesome for your Dad.
We were lucky Elsa did really reach us.
kookyrunner says
I am glad that your area was able to avoid Elsa – it was such a mess here on Friday!
Michelle D. says
I’m so glad you had a good staycation and it’s great to hear that your dad is making such good progress!
I had to chuckle at your Thomas Rhett comment – I felt the same way lol. I love that you are working your way through all of the AFO classes. I have enjoyed discovering new artists and definitely have a few more classes I want to check out this week. I swear I use your weekly recaps as my class guide π
kookyrunner says
Thanks Michelle! That’s so funny about Thomas Rhett. I think I enjoyed it because although it was country music, it was a little more upbeat than traditional country music songs.
Zenaida Arroyo says
That is great news about your dad! I also thought Black Coffee was a group!!! π I have heard of Robin Schulz and like one of his songs (it is on my running playlist). I’ve said it before and I will say it again but I am impressed with all of your Peloton workouts. I do like to see what you do and get ideas for classes for me.
kookyrunner says
I’m glad that I can provide ideas for Peloton classes π I will say that they have really spoiled us with the abundance of classes over the past few weeks!
Darlene S. Cardillo says
What a busy week with peloton and otf.
Glad you are having a good staycation.
Love those memes.
kookyrunner says
Thanks Darlene!
Shathiso says
Haha! I feel that track meme! π Firstly so happy to hear your dad’s recovery is going well. I hope he continues to go from strength to strength and he is out driving soon!
You had such an active week and hope you’re feeling more grounded than you were before the little break.
kookyrunner says
Thanks so much Shathiso. He is very happy about the prospect of hopefully driving again in a few weeks.
The staycation was good – not as relaxing on some days but it was still nice to unplug from work.
Coco says
Great news on your Dad! I canβt believe you are doing all the AFO classes so quickly. I took that Sturgill ride β at least it was on the short side? π
kookyrunner says
I was very happy that the ride was only 15 minutes, lol. I just focused on Denis and his cues and tried to ignore the music.
Liz Dexter says
Excellent work and that’s good news about your dad, I’m so pleased. I have a week off this week and so far I seem to have managed to have a blood test, order a letter to be printed at the doctor’s and gone back to get it, written a book review and read blog posts … I did do a run this morning at least.
kookyrunner says
Thanks so much Liz! I hope that you enjoy your time off this week π
Jenn says
ZERO STARS! I’m crying.
I’m so glad your dad is doing so well! That’s got to feel great.
Mother Nature IS weird. The flooding up north was just bizarre! I’m glad you’re ok.
kookyrunner says
Zero stars is so accurate though, lol. The flooding here was kinda crazy but expected, especially for certain areas of the city that are near the water. I’m just thankful no one was injured/hurt.
Black Knight says
Glad that your dad is feeling better.
The “man” on the windows who complains about the fireworks looks like me after the final of the European football championship. Here people got crazy after the victory of Italy and under my house people screamed and made noise with the trumpets until 02.00 a.m. I am not a football fan (even if I am happy that Italy won) so I preferred to sleep at that time!
kookyrunner says
I can imagine that things were pretty crazy there on Sunday! We had fans that were cheering and blocking traffic downtown but luckily I was home and didn’t have to deal with that, lol.
Lisa @ TechChick Adventures says
That’s great news about your Dad. Very interesting about the Zion walk. That’s where I’ll be next week!!
kookyrunner says
Oh that’s so cool about your upcoming visit to Zion!
Cari says
So glad to read that your dad is doing well. What a relief.
LOL re: Thomas Rhett. Both the run and the stretch had some of my favorites of his songs. We might make you not hate country yet π But i get it. I see names like Dua Lips and Ariana Grande and nope nope nope. I want to sing along in my head so I have to know the music. Oh and yellow > pink Starburst, so thanks for saving the yellow ones for me π
Happy 600!
kookyrunner says
If there ar emote country artists like Thomas Rhett I may end up slightly liking country music, lol.
Cari says
There definitely are
Olivia has some of the less sappy country ones generally, more rock. What kind of music do you like generally, I can pr bably align some country ones.
kookyrunner says
I like more of the pop country songs if that makes sense? A little more up-tempo is more my style.
