Happy Sunday! We experienced a lot of Spring-like weather this week which made me miss the Fall weather we have been experiencing lately. I’m fully in Fall mode right now (all things pumpkin, apples, etc) so I hope that we get back to the cooler weather soon.
Here’s how my workouts went this week:
Monday, October 5
Orangetheory Fitness – Power (45 minutes)
BHM: Hip Hop Ride 2/12/20 – Kendall (30 minutes)
#nevermissamonday! I loved the OTF class and I was pleasantly surprised to see some familiar faces in class! Pre-Covid I had my “4:15 class crew” but now people are going at all different times due to work form home and back to school schedules. The Hip hop ride was really a lot of fun. I’ve noticed that Kendall has great playlists so I need to check out her rides more.
Tuesday, October 6
Peloton Advanced Bodyweight Bootcamp 6/1/20 – Jess (60 minutes)
My favorite Peloton instructor is Jess and her bootcamps, especially the advanced runs, kick my butt EVERY SINGLE TIME.
Wednesday, October 7
Orangetheory Fitness – Endurance (45 minutes)
Peloton Alicia Keys Run 10/6/20 – Robin (20 minutes)
Peloton 5 Min Basics: Warrior 1 12/11/18 – Kristin (5 minutes)
Peloton yoga Flow: Chest Openers 1/24/19 – Kristin (10 minutes)
Today was the 1-mile benchmark run but I wasn’t able to participate since my studio still has 45 minute 3G classes. I was actually totally fine with this since I knew it wouldn’t be a PR because of my mask. It was still a hard class even without the benchmark run. I feel like they are giving us “Hell Week” workouts all month. I wanted to get in a little more running so I did the 20 minute Alicia Keys run when I got home and it was perfect – great music and Robin was very motivational.
Thursday, October 8
Peloton Alicia Keys Ride 10/7/20 – Jess King (30 minutes)
Peloton Alicia Keys Full Body Strength 10/7/20 – Jess (30 minutes)
Peloton 5 min Basics: Cobra 1/3/19 – Aditi (5 minutes)
Peloton Yoga Flow 3/12/19 – Anna (20 minutes)
I really enjoyed the Alicia Keys classes – you really can’t go wrong with her music!
Friday, October 9
Peloton Hip Hop Fun Run 10/5/19 – Jess (60 minutes)
Peloton Recovery Run 10/3/19 – Jess (10 minutes)
Peloton Alicia Keys Yoga Flow 10/8/20 – Aditi (30 minutes)
I used the Peloton classes to get me through my virtual Hartford Marathon 10K. I haven’t done any runs longer than 4 miles in a while but this run felt pretty good even though I had to stop for a potty break.
Saturday, October 10
Peloton XOXO, Cody Ride 10/6/20 – Cody (30 minutes)
Peloton Advanced Full Body Bootcamp 10/10/20 – Jess (60 minutes)
Peloton 5 min Basics: High Lunge 1/2/19 – Anna (5 minutes)
Peloton Restorative Yoga 2/21/19 – Anna (10 minutes)
I look forward to the #Saturday60 bootcamp class every week and this class didn’t disappoint! The XOXO, Cody ride was absolutely hilarious. He can always put me in a good mood.
Sunday, October 11
Orangetheory Fitness – Endurance (45 minutes)
Peloton 5 min Basics: Downward Facing Dog 1/31/19 – Ross (5 minutes)
Peloton Yoga Flow 10/4/19 – Ross (30 minutes)
The OTF Endurance style workouts are so hard to do while wearing a mask but I just try to forget about it and do the best that I can, especially on the treadmill.
Total Weekly Mileage: 18.5 miles
Summary: 8 runs*, 3 cycle, 2 bootcamp, and 4 OTF/strength/HITT classes.
*I include running from my OTF workouts, boot camp classes and stand alone runs.
Peloton Artist Series Classes Progress – 151/153
Grade This Week ā A
I’ve been enjoying the Yoga Basics classes this week because I’m learning a lot about the different poses and how to do them correctly.
On Friday I had the day off work for Mental Health Day Off. World Mental Health Day was Saturday, October 11 but my company gave us the day off work on Friday. This is the first year we have had this day off and I am very thankful to my company for acknowleding the importance of mental health. I started the day off with a run and then spent some quality time in Trader Joe’s. While there I purchased these drinks and they are SO good. I can’t wait to go back and get more.
The rest of the day was spent doing very little. I tried to use the day to decompress from the craziness of the past few weeks.
…and now for this week’s memes š
That’s it! I hope you had a great week š
Iām linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.

That American Girl meme made me laugh, both daughters have a collection of those (and none of them look remotely close to the “2020 version” LOL). Alicia Keyes has such great talent, I can only imagine how awesome those classes would be with her music.

I think that American Doll should totally release that doll for real – I guarantee it would sell out, lol.
Deborah Brooks says
oh the American girl doll meme ha ha.! Ok you are seriously crushing it lately. Love the mix of everything you are doing. I also love to find new classes or programs on Peloton to try. The sleep one is up next I think

The American Girl Doll made me laugh so hard – I wish they would release it for real, lol. I feel like Peloton is constantly releasing new content so it helps to keep things fresh!

Home School Heather, I love it š
It was warmer here than normal too! Weird weather for October. I’m not complaining though, dreading the icy cold mornings!
Great job getting in such a fun variety of workouts this week Kim!
kookyrunner says
Definitely weird weather for October, and it kind of switched overnight, lol.
Judy @ Chocolaterunsjudy says
Always love your memes, Kim! They definitely had me LOL today. Literally.
You definitely can’t go wrong with Alicia — I need to check out more of the Artist’s series! I actually haven’t done any Peloton workouts at all since I haven’t been running — too busy walking (my phone doesn’t sync well with headphones so i don’t use the outside Peloton workouts).
Glad you got that mental healthy day! With your news about your work, I’ll bet you needed that.
kookyrunner says
I have to admit that we were blessed with some good memes this week LOL – there’s definitely not a lack of content online, that’s for sure.
I haven’t loved all of the Artist Series classes, but what I do appreciate is that they introduce me to new music which is always a good thing!
Stephanie Mitchell says
Holy smokes, your memes were hysterical. Thank you for sharing.
kookyrunner says
No problem! If they made you laugh then I’m happy š

How nice of your company to give you the day off in honor of Mental Health day. Omg that meme about mask coming off, lol! I was trying on pants in a fitting room the other day and came out to use the big mirror with my mask off, then quickly remembered and retreated The struggle is real! Haha!
kookyrunner says
I now keep a mask in my car and in my purse “just in case” because I just know I’m going to forget it one day!
Wendy says
Glad to hear that you’re getting some quality workouts in! Do you sing along to the good playlists? Because I do…lol
Your memes wer’e on point again. Funny thing, when I went back to work, I was worried the babies wouldn’t know I was smiling behind my mask. I never realized how much babies look at our eyes to see our reactions–now I know! I smile and they smile! Isn’t it the best?
kookyrunner says
Awwe that’s so cute that the babies can recognize your smile from your eyes – that warms my heart!
I can NOT sing but I always sing along when a good playlist comes on, lol.
Michelle @ Running with Attitude says
Each one of these memes made me chuckle š
Great idea to use a couple of Peloton runs to get through your 10K! And I loved Robin’s Alicia run – as you said, you cannot go wrong with Alicia Keys! I will have to try Jess’ Alicia strength class.
I think it’s great that your company had a mental health day! So important – I wish more companies would do that!
kookyrunner says
I really like using the Peloton run classes to get through longer runs. I think I may pick a few classes to get me through my half marathon next weekend. Definitely do the Alicia Keys strength class – it was a good one!
I’m so thankful to my company for the day off – it was much needed!
Coco says
I think the last meme is my favorite this week. Thatās great you got Friday off. Our firm has been offering a lot of on-line programs about coping with stress. I did the Alicia Keys strength workout this morning and really liked it. Will have to check out the run.
kookyrunner says
I love that it seems like more companies are showing more of an interest in mental health. That’s great that your firm is offering programs on how to deal with stress – so necessary, especially this year! I really loved the Alicia Keys strength class too. Jess is just such a great instructor!
Beckett @ Birchwood Pie says
Congrats on your 10k!!!!!
kookyrunner says
Thanks so much!
Lisa @ Mile by Mile says
That’s so awesome that your company gave you off for Mental Health Day! We went apple picking yesterday and my son broke my husbands mask! He was able to some how tie it back together, but Grayson thought it was hysterical. Hopefully he doesn’t continue doing that, lol.
kookyrunner says
Apple picking sounds like fun! I hope to do that sometime this month.
Darlene S Cardillo says
Congrats on your virtual 10K.
I wish our office gave us a mental health Day but I took my own on Tues.
Your memes are great!!!!!!
kookyrunner says
Thanks! I really haven’t run longer than 4 miles in a long time but the 10k felt good.
That’s awesome that you took your own mental health day – we all need to do whatever is best to deal with all the stress of this year.
Zenaida Arroyo says
The Hartford Half Marathon would have taken place yesterday, right? My half marathon PR is from that race a few years ago.
How cool that your company gave you that day off on Friday. We are off tomorrow which I am grateful but I feel like I need to take more time off. One day is not enough. š
kookyrunner says
Yeah, it was originally scheduled for this weekend. I think they had a good turnout for the virtual races so I was happy to see that.
Liz Dexter says
I can’t believe you do all that work in a mask – fair play to you. Can you run your mile outside without or does it have to be on a treadmill in the gym? Well done on your 10k, too: it’s amazing what we can do when we sign up for something and have to, right?!
I am a bit sad as our week off has not produced a tidy enough room upstairs that I cam move my exercise equipment and move the spare TV up, let alone put a mat on the floor, to start doing Peleton. I think I’ll try to do some weights and sit ups etc (somewhere!) to get ready for it while waiting for husband to clear more of his stuff.
kookyrunner says
My OTF does offer a few outdoor classes during the week but unfortunately they are all during the work day so I have to take my classes in the studio with my mask on. I won’t say that it ever gets easier working out in the mask but it’s bearable, lol
Montana @ Pretty Lil Mudder says
I feel ya on that weather girl! We had a Indian summer here in Florida, it got hot again last week. Supposed to be in the 60s again this weekend so hoping that sticks around for a bit!
I really miss OTF. I haven’t really been able to do it much since my shin started acting up and I just called and put my membership on hold while I figure out what’s going on with it right now. Hopefully I can figure it out soon and get back! In the meantime at least I still have Peloton.
kookyrunner says
You’re smart to put your OTF membership on hold, especially this month because all the workouts seem to be insane (they call it Hell Week but it’s really Hell Month, lol)
Lisa @ TechChick Adventures says
Thanks for the laughs š That’s a great idea for a day off. Mental health is so important, especially now. Great job on all of the workouts this week. You are making me miss my Peloton membership!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Lisa!
Debbie @ Deb Runs says
The leaves have changed here and the temperature has dropped from a high of 77Ā° yesterday to an expected high of 57Ā° today. Today definitely feels like fall!
You found some great memes this week!
kookyrunner says
wow that’s a huge temperature drop
