Happy Sunday! Are you experiencing Fall where you live? It’s so odd here – I feel like we had Fall weather toward the end of September but this week the weather has been all over the place. The leaves aren’t even changing here yet!
Monday, October 4
Warm Up Walk 9/20/21 – Becs (5 minutes)
LHM Celebration Run 9/28/21 – Jess K. (30 minutes)
LHM Live DJ Ride 10/1/21 – Jess K. (30 minutes)
LHM Celebration Bike Bootcamp 10/4/21 – Jess (45 minutes)
LHM Salsa Focus Flow: Hips 10/3/21 – Kristin (20 minutes)
Peloton has so many classes for LatinX Heritage Month so I decided to stack a few of those. You can’t go wrong with Latin music to start off the week! The timeslot for Jess’ bike bootcamp moved from 5pm to 12pm so I decided to hop on the live class since I didn’t have any lunchtime meetings. I will probably try to do this class live as long as I’m free since it’s a nice way to break up the workday.
Did everyone survive the great Instagram and Facebook outage of 2021?
Tuesday, October 5
Sundays with Love Ride 1/31/21 – Ally (30 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness – Power (45 minutes)
Warm Up Walk 9/20/21 – Becs (5 minutes)
Full Body Bootcamp 10/5/21 – Jess (30 minutes)
Core Strength 7/7/21 – Callie (10 minutes)
LHM Celebration Walk 10/5/21 – Jess (20 minutes)
It was another benchmark day at OTF – 200 meter row. I missed my PR by less than 1 second. At this point I’m not sure I’ll PR that distance since I’m literally giving it all I have without flying off the rower – I can only do so much with my short legs, lol. The rest of the workout focused on power strength moves and sprints on the treadmill so overall it was a great class.
I finished up my workout after logging off work for the day to celebrate two milestones – 150 bootcamp classes and 100 walks. Thanks to Coco and Cari for joining me for those milestones!
Wednesday, October 6
Ozuna Run 9/30/21 – Selena (30 minutes)
Ozuna Ride 9/29/21 – Jess K (30 minutes)
Ozuna Full Body Strength 9/29/21 – Rad (30 minutes)
007 Full Body Stretch 10/4/21 – Ben (10 minutes)
LHM Celebration Barre 10/6/21 – Hannah C. (10 minutes)
LHM Celebration Core Strength 10/5/21 – Robin (10 minutes)
I’ve never heard of Ozuna before so I didn’t know any of his music before taking these classes. It wasn’t too bad – most of the songs were reggaeton so great to workout too. The classes weren’t bad but they weren’t great either – not sure I would recommend them. The stretch class was fun – how many times to you get to do a full body stretch while listening to music from the 007 films?!
Thursday, October 7
LHM Celebration Walk 10/2/21 – Selena (30 minutes)
Unity Ride 10/3/21 – Mayla (30 minutes)
Core Strength 7/7/21 – Callie (10 minutes)
Broadway Full Body Strength 9/26/21 – Matty (30 minutes)
Dance Cardio Warm Up 10/7/21 – Multiple Instructors (10 minutes)
USHER Dance Cardio 10/7/21 – Ally & Emma (20 minutes)
Unity Yoga Flow 10/2/21 – Nico (30 minutes)
This workout had a little bit of everything. Peloton released season 2 of their dance cardio classes so I wanted to test the out. These two classes were SO much fun! I definitely wouldn’t consider them a workout, but it’s a fun way to move your body, get some steps in and get a little sweaty.
Friday, October 8
Orangetheory Fitness – Power (60 minutes)
Fastest Mile 9/23/19 – Jess (20 minutes)
Karol G Ride 10/6/21 – Robin (20 minutes)
Karol G Barre 10/6/21 – Hannah C. (20 minutes)
The OTF class was pretty hard – a good amount of explosive moves that kept my heart rate up. Let’s just say I was happy when it was over, lol. These Karol G classes were pretty good. Another new to me artist bu I enjoyed her music. She’s one of the only women in reggaeton music.
Saturday, October 9
Pre-Run Warm Up 10/6/21 – Robin (5 minutes)
Saturday60: 2000s Bootcamp 10/9/21 – Jess (60 minutes)
LHM: Power Endurance Ride 10/6/21 – Matt (30 minutes)
Post-Ride Stretch 8/27/21 – Cliff (5 minutes)
LHM: Reggaeton Yoga Flow 10/4/21 – Chelsea (30 minutes)
I had to run a lot of errands before logging on for Saturday60. Luckily I made it back home in time to change into my workout clothes and join the class on time. The playlist was great and it was a very manageable bootcamp – not too easy or hard, which is rare since I always feel like her bootcamps are crazy hard. The yoga class was just what I needed later on in the afternoon to help loosen up my body, especially a cranky back.
There was also some trash talking between Kim & I as both our college teams faced off against each other. Unfortunately PSU blew it in the 4th quarter, but it was still a good game!
Sunday, October 10
Orangetheory Fitness – Lift 45 – Full Body – (45 minutes)
World Mental Health Day Ride 10/9/21 – Erik (20 minutes)
World Mental Health Day Ride 10/9/21 – Kendall (30 minutes)
Core Strength 7/7/21 – Callie (10 minutes)
Today’s Lift45 class was pretty tame compared to the other classes I’ve done this week. It always nice to slow down and focus on form. Peloton released a few different classes for World Mental Health Day so I decided to take some of them today. I’m a huge advocate for taking care of your mental health and love that Peloton is offering these classes. I’ll probably do a short yoga class later on this evening as well.
Total Weekly Mileage: 13 miles
Summary: 6 runs*, 8 cycle, 3 bootcamps, 4 yoga and 13 OTF/strength/HIIT classes.
*I include running from my OTF workouts, boot camp classes and stand alone runs.
Peloton Artist Series Classes Progress – 405/407
Anyone in the Halloween spirit yet? Halloween isn’t one of my favorite holidays but I love giving out candy to all the kids. Right now I’m trying to find a funny costume, but it has to be something I can workout in since I’ll be wearing it to OTF on Halloween. Wish me luck! LoL
On Friday I went through my work calendar for the rest of the year to see where I could use up the rest of my vacation days. I still have 14 vacation days to use before the end of the year. We lose them if we don’t use them so I always make sure to use them up. I know for sure I’ll be taking off the week of Thanksgiving and then I’ll probably do a few long weekends too. I always feel like it’s a mad rush to use up my vacation time before the end of the year – you would think I would learn and get better about spacing it out, lol.
…and now for this week’s memes
That’s it! I hope you had a great week š
Iām linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.
Deborah Brooks says
definitely purple! LOL I always forget about using the walk classes for a warm up to cycling or lifting. That Chelsea yoga class looks really good too. Thanks for scoping out the fun new classes for me! Another great mix of workouts for you. Our weather is super crazy as well!
kookyrunner says
I think there are just so many Peloton classes (and now instructors) that it’s easy to forget about all the different types of classes available.
Jessie says
Ha, saying goodbye on a zoom call…so true. It’s going to be hard to go back to in-person meetings again.
Awesome week Kim! I haven’t ventured into the Peloton yoga yet, but need to!
kookyrunner says
That Zoom meme was me ALL week. Those video calls can de so draining, especially when they are about nonsense and nothing gets accomplished.
Jenny says
I like the boo/burpees meme, ha ha.
Great week of workouts -you definitely know how to make it fun! I don’t know too much about the rest of your life, but I hope it spills over.
kookyrunner says
I thought that was a funny meme too, although I do love burpees š
Judy @ Chocolaterunsjudy says
Good luck finding the perfect Halloween costume for working out in! It’s never been my favorite holiday, and since it’s the day we put Lola to sleep last year . . . yeah, I know, I’m a barrel of laughs.
Since I was traveling to my mom, the FB blackout didn’t effect me at all!
Lots of variety — as usual, Kim!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Judy! It will definitely be a challenge but I hope I can find a costume this week. If not, I’ll just wear my pumpkin costume from last year, lol.
Michelle D. says
The weather was so odd this week – I really want fall to come back now.
Congrats again on your milestones! You reminded me that I need to remember about the walk classes.
Love the memes this week – especially the Zoom log-off! Me after every call this week LOL
kookyrunner says
Right? I was like where is Fall?? I’m hoping we get more Fall like weather this week.
I think it’s easy to forget about all the walk classes on Peloton but they really have some great ones!
Kimberly Hatting says
Ha ha, I love those purple onions, though I think they’re more of a burgundy shade (?) š Another great week for you, #KimTwin, especially with those walking and bootcamp milestone classes! Well done! Yesterday’s game was NUTZO! It was nice having a Penn State fan to exchange some “commentary” with during the game….I was a little scared the Nittany Lions were gonna claim another victory in Kinnick for awhile!
kookyrunner says
I would agree – more of a burgundy/purplish shade, lol.
The game was so good and I enjoyed our friendly banter š
Coco says
Iām glad I could do your milestone bootcamp. I could never do midday bootcamps on a regular schedule, even if I could keep my calendar clear, my brain has a hard time settling back in after a workout.
Congrats on nearly matching your PR at OTF. 1 second seems too close to really be different! I sure know how you feel about struggling with short legs on the rower. š
Our weather is sort of fall like today, but in an overcast way.
kookyrunner says
I agree about the bootcamps. Sometimes I can squeeze in a run or cycle class during lunch but I feel like I need much more focus for a bootcamp class. Thanks for celebrating with me!
It’s been kind of overcast here today and it rained yesterday, so I think it’s gonna take a while for the Fall-like weather to come back here.
Angie says
Bahaha! That FB and Instagram outage was so wild. To be honest, I was in the most boring zoom meeting, so I turned off my camera and checked Twitter, which was hilarious with all the conspiracy theories. LOL We are like you when it comes to weather. Towards the end of Sept it was very fall-like, but now it feels like summer. Crazy.
kookyrunner says
Ugh those boring Zoom meetings can be so draining! Thank goodness Twitter was still working, lol.
Wendy says
LOL, the Little House on the Prairie meme! Wasn’t it the craziest day?
We play Iowa in a couple of weeks…let’s just see how it goes, lol
And why do they call it a red onion?
kookyrunner says
That meme made me laugh. I couldn’t believe how people were freaking out over the outage…especially people that should have been working during those hours anyway, lol.
Marcia says
The day FB and IG were down was SO nice! I think I need to start by designating a day when it’s “down” for me every week. Haha! Enjoy planning those remaining vacation days. I can’t believe how quickly the holidays are racing toward us!
kookyrunner says
I thought it was nice when both platforms were down too! I also thought about how much more work was getting done during the outage, lol.
Catrina says
14 days of vacation? Wow, Kim, that’s a lot of days!
If you could take them all in a row you could do an overseas trip and visit Switzerland!
What are your plans for the long weekends that you will take?
kookyrunner says
I know – I am so mad at myself for not using up the days more earlier in the year! I would love if I could take them all in a row and visit Switzerland!!
Black Knight says
Yes, fall is here and the leaves are on the ground. Now I don’t need anymore to run at 06:30 and, at last, I can get up a bit later.
Congrats on your milestone, another solid week for you.
Enjoy your remaining vacation days.
kookyrunner says
It’s so nice that you have Fall there. I think the leaves turning colors are always so pretty š
Debbie @ Deb Runs says
I watched most of the Iowa/Penn State game until I switched channels to watch our game (VT vs ND). I was surprised when I saw that Iowa had won since Penn State had led the entire game.
This week’s memes are great and I especially like the paper plate/solo cup one!
kookyrunner says
It was definitely a jam packed day for college football!
Shathiso says
The worst kind of losses are those that happen at the end!
Is there any affiliation between Penn State the UPenn (or would those be competitors)? UPenn has been in Botswana for 20 years. The Botswana-UPenn Partnership works with the Government of Botswana Ministry of Health and the University of Botswana to build healthcare and research capacity in Botswana.
kookyrunner says
Right?! I was bummed but I guess I should be happy that is was a close game and not a blowout. UPENN and Penn State aren’t affiliated but they are both located in the same state, both universities are very popular though!
Jenn says
Fall is a complete no-show here. Boo.
The outage seems like a year ago already! So glad that there are memes to commemorate the day!
Love that Latin lineup. Back in college, I used to love to go salsa dancing. I miss that, and I bet all the workout music was incredible!
kookyrunner says
So true! My week was so busy that I almost forgot about the outage until I went to post yesterday’s blog.
Lisa @ TechChick Adventures says
Sadly, I was working so hard this week I barely noticed IG & FB were out! That’s exciting that you have day off left. I have 3 trips planned before the end of the year and I can’t wait. I’ve been swamped at work and looking forward to some time off. So yeah, it’s Oct 11th and 83 degrees in the evening? Ugh.
kookyrunner says
Seems like work has been really busy for a lot of use these past few weeks! Hopefully things get start to slow down soon.
Darlene S Cardillo says
I kinda freaked with FB went down.
Ou r leaves are falling but it’s still warm.
That ZOOM meme is me!!
kookyrunner says
The Zoom meme was definitely me last week! I was so sick of being on camera.
