Happy Friday! We officially have 10 days until Christmas – just TEN! We’re getting down to the wire! Here are five last minute gifts that any runner would love!
Race Entry
As runners we want to run #alltheraces, but we might not necessarily have money to do that! Any runner would appreciate this gift!
Membership Fee
There are many different run clubs across the country and some of them require a yearly membership fee. For example, I have been member of New York Road Runners (NYRR) for the past few years. The yearly membership fee provides a lot of perks, including discounts on races.
Gift Certificate/Gift Card
I know that some people think gift cards are a very impersonal gift but I totally disagree! A gift card to a running store is an awesome gift! It’s hard to know every single item that a runner owns, so a gift card is a great way to give them money to get something that they really need or want.
Magazine Subscription
I know that everything is digital now, but if you’re like me, you still love flipping through magazines. Sure, you can find most running articles online, but is there anything better than flipping through a running magazine on your rest day? Or while taking an Epsom salt bath? I think not!
Time
Why not write out an IOU for the gift of your time? Many runners are parents and might find it difficult to squeeze in runs for their training. Donate your time to babysitting, or cooking a meal, or running errands. All these things can help give a runner more time in their day to fit in a workout, and it would be much appreciated! Not all gifts have to cost money 🙂
I’m linking up for Friday Five 2.0 with Rachel from Running on Happy and Lacey and Meranda from Fairytales and Fitness.

I love the gift of time. Everyone is in such a hurry and doing their own thing these days. And I did buy a race entry for my husband so that he can do the Carlsbad 5000 All Day 20k with me in March!
kookyrunner says
Oh I’ve heard that race is so fun!!
Marcia says
I totally drag my magazines to the bath with me. Beat dropping my phone or tablet in. Haha!
kookyrunner says
LOL very true!
Chaitali says
Ahhh! I didn’t realize it was only 10 days until Christmas. Wow, I’ve really got to get my act in gear.
kookyrunner says
I know – it kind of sneaks up on you!
Megan @ Meg Go Run says
I never thought of offering to watch a runner’s kids during a race as a present until Ana talked about it on her blog. it’s a GENIUS idea!
kookyrunner says
It’s such a great idea! I think sometimes we think gifts require money but they don’t! 🙂
Michelle @ Running with Attitude says
I love the idea of giving time! My brother bails me out at least once a year taking my kids for a weekend so my husband and I can squeeze in a race weekend somewhere – it’s a godsend!
kookyrunner says
Awwe your brother is awesome!
Abby @BackatSquareZero says
I am all about the race entry fees and gift cards. They would be fabulous.
kookyrunner says
I 100% agree – I’m hoping for both gifts under the tree this year lol

These are GREAT gift ideas! Especially entry fees. They add up!

Lisa @ Mile by Mile says
These are great ideas! I love getting gift cards. I always tell people they cant go wrong with Running Warehouse or Amazon!
kookyrunner says
Very true! I received a Running Warehouse gift card one year and I definitely put it to good use!
Lesley says
Things to do after a race is good too, like a massage or pedicure. I’ve gotten pedicures after races before and my feet thank me for it.
kookyrunner says
That’s so true and that would be a great gift!
Shathiso says
That last one of “time” is on my list already! Lol! I also love flipping through magazines and that race entry idea is fantastic – those race entries add up after a while!
kookyrunner says
Definitely! I do’t even want to think about how much I’ve spent in race entries throughout the years!
Wendy says
Great ideas!
I think a race entry is a great gift idea!
kookyrunner says
I asked my parents for a race entry as a gift this year, lol.
Nicole says
Great list! I’d love a Runner’s World subscription! Not something I’d get myself but that I’d enjoy.
kookyrunner says
I enjoy my Runner’s World magazine every month!
Farrah says
The gift of time is always my favorite (although more in the form of quality time spent with awesome people). Great list for the procrastinating/super-busy people! :]
kookyrunner says
Mine too! I think people really underestimate the value of their time.
Atim at EffiFit says
I love these gift ideas. And I do enjoy a good gift card!
kookyrunner says
Thanks!

I’m totally in agreement with the magazine thing! They are inexpensive, but have lots of info and are easily transportable. I have gotten RW for years (not sure how long…maybe 10 years?), and although a lot of the articles/features repeat, I still enjoy reading them.
kookyrunner says
Definitely! You can get a subscription for less than $20 bucks!
Coco says
These are great ideas. I need suggestions for all the non-runners in my life … 🙂
kookyrunner says
Me too!
Celia (Chicago Jogger) says
Great ideas! Especially the gift of time… I have a 1 year old and my time to run is definitely limited these days.
kookyrunner says
I couldn’t agree more. I think that time is a precious gift that we take for granted!
Angela @marathonsandmotivation.com says

kookyrunner says
I totally agree with that!
Fairytales and fitness says
I LOVE my magazine subscriptions but ya know what, I feel so guilty because I haven’t been reading them the last few months. I just hate to give them up!
kookyrunner says
Sometimes it takes me a few days to read them but I always love carving out time to do it!
Chelsea says
I LOVE all of these ideas!!! I could use a little bit of each one! 🙂 The gift of time might be my favorite idea though!
kookyrunner says
It’s my favorite gift too!
Nicole @ Fitful Focus says
These are great ideas! I’d like any of them.
