Happy Friday! Can you believe we have closed out a full month of #QuarantineLife? Honestly it feels like I’ve been working from home for months but it’s only been around 7 weeks. Luckily I was able to get into a routine pretty early on in the month. I am someone that functions best in structure so I knew I had to get some kind of schedule to help me get through the workdays.
I was able to hit all of my goals for April and hope I can keep that momentum going for May.
First, let’s take a look at my goals from April:
Complete two OTF Challenges
Grade: A
I completed the 30 daily burpee challenge and OTF Marathon Month. While I don’t mind burpees, this challenge was rough and I’m glad it’s done! Marathon Month wasn’t as difficult since I always strive to run a minimum of 50 miles a month. The ultra marathon distance was 31.1 miles so I was able to hit that earlier in the month.
Peloton Spring Launch Challenge
Grade: A
I completed this challenge by doing at least one Peloton class every day during April. I’ve really used this month to explore different classes and instructors and it’s been really good. One thing that surprised me was that I discovered a few sleep meditation classes that I really enjoy.
Stay connected with friends and family
Grade: A
Thanks to Facebook Messenger and Zoom, I’ve been able to connect with my friends and family on a regular basis. I actually want to continue to do this even when things start to go back to “normal”. Texting and email is great but there’s just something so much better about hearing someone’s voice, or better yet, seeing their face!
Here are my goals for May!
Complete Peloton May Activity Challenge
Similar to the launch challenge, this challenges requires you to take one Peloton class a day to complete the 31 day streak. On days that I don’t do a boot camp, cycle or strength training workout, I normally do a stretching or sleep meditation class so I should be able to complete this goal.
Finish a Book
When #QuarantineLife first started I thought I would have a bunch of free time, which certainly didn’t happen, lol. But am determined to actually finish a book this month. I think I have 3 or 4 books that I need to finish.
Re-start Meatless Mondays
During Lent I do not eat meat on Fridays, so I got a little lazy and stopped ding Meatless Monday. I want to bring those back this month.
That’s it for this month – wish me luck! Hope that you and your families continue to stay safe and healthy.
If you set monthly goals, what are your goals for May?
I’m linking up for Fridays with Fairytales and Fitness from Fairytales and Fitness.

Congrats to you. That’s super.
No goals set in writing. But my main one is to stay positive.
I’ve been walking everyday. I connected with college friends thru Zoom. See you tomorrow. I have been cooking. And even de-cluttering.
Maybe I’ll keep it up after this is over.
kookyrunner says
Thanks so much Darlene! I think that staying positive is an amazing goal that we should all have 🙂
Catrina says
A straight grade A month! How is that! Well done!
I’m also not reading as much as I want to. Finishing a book is a good idea. What are you reading?
kookyrunner says
Thanks Catrina! I’m currently reading a book on the science behind Orangetheory Fitness and I want to finish it this month – I’m about halfway through.
Marcia says
Wow you really nailed April! I haven’t even thought about goals for May yet. Haha! My bad!
kookyrunner says
I literally just remembered to do my goals post last night after dinner, lol. May kinda snuck up on me but I guess that happens when every day feels the same lol
Wendy says
It’s great seeing you hit all your goals in spite of being quarantined. Plus I know you said you were so busy with work! Great job, Kim!
kookyrunner says
Thanks so much Wendy!
Laurie says
Congrats on doing so well on your April goals and good luck on your May goals. I didn’t know Peloton has classes like sleep meditation. That is really appealing. Hmmm…
kookyrunner says
Thanks so much Laurie! Definitely try out the sleep meditation classes – they have been super helpful.
Deborah Brooks says
I think a month of burpees counts double! I am in for the Peloton challenge too. I am loving all the new classes I am taking. Happy to help out w any meatless Monday ideas. In fact, if you have any for me let me know. I am always looking for recipe inspiration myself!
kookyrunner says
lol, I think so too! I have already saved quite a bunch of recipes from your website to help me out with meatless mondays 🙂
fairytales and fitness says
You are really rocking those challenges! I can’t believe we are almost half way through the year! Yet I feel like I’ve accomplished very little since we’ve been Staying at home!
Have a good weekend. -M
kookyrunner says
Thanks so much! The challenges give me something to focus on during this crazy time.
Michelle @ Running with Attitude says
You had a fantastic April! Congrats! You’ve got me thinking I need to make some May goals – I swear the first of the month totally snuck up on me!
kookyrunner says
May snuck up on me too!
Chaitali says
Great job with those April goals! I thought I’d be reading more too but it hasn’t happened. I might make that a goal for May too.
kookyrunner says
Thanks so much!
Coco says
Congrats on nailing your goals! I finally finished the book I started last fall (!) and started a better one that I will finish much sooner. Maybe I should set some goals for May ….
kookyrunner says
This sounds like me! I think I started a book around Christmas and still haven’t finished it, lol
Debbie @ Deb Runs says
It seems like a lot of us thought we’d have a lot more down time than we really are. I’m not quite sure why I don’t since my business took at hit and I’m only seeing about 35-40% of my clients virtually. Perhaps I’m not managing my time as well as I should be…
Congrats on doing so well hitting your goals! You’re killing it!
kookyrunner says
I think that things we didn’t expect are taking up more of our time. For instance, I’m connecting with friends and family via phone and ZOOM way more than I thought. It’s a good thing, but still takes up a lot of time.
Liz Dexter says
Good achievements and goals. There is no way I would put myself through burpees every day so respect to you!
kookyrunner says
Thanks so much Liz!
Cari says
I was very surprised at one month and seven weeks, and then I realized this was from an ancient open tab. Whoops!
COngrats on the April goals. I’m with you on meatless monday. The instant pot is helping there, but I’m still not adventerous, or a good enough cook to make Deborah’s recipes.
I totally agree on face & voice. We’ve realized how much it matters
kookyrunner says
I don’t have an instant pot but I have an air fryer and I use it for everything! I’m all about anything that makes cooking easier 🙂
Cari says
Can’t recall when we actually became Facebook friends, but the Instant Pot was a Thing on my facebook halfway through quarantime. I realized I needed to learn to make sides. Crowd sourcing for the win
