Happy Tuesday! It’s time for another edition of Tuesday Topics. This week’s Tuesday Topic: Your new favorite running item you have tried this year. Remember to link-up with Kim and Zenaida and the bottom of this post.
There’s no shortage of running items on the market, and it seems like every month (or every week) there’s a new item available. I’m not one to jump and try every new item that comes out, but every now and then I will try something different. Here are 3 “new to me” items that I have tried this year.
Honey Stinger Black Cherry Sport Hydration Mix
This product isn’t new to me, but the favor was something different. I have use this product for the past year in the strawberry lemonade flavor but decided to try something new. I wouldn’t say I LOVED it, but I didn’t hate it either. But I’ll probably stick to my tried and true flavor. That happens sometimes when trying something new and that’s okay! I really like this product because neither flavor was overly sweet and it provides me with a good source of hydration for all of my workouts – runs, cycling, OTF and strength training.
These are my favorite running sneakers! When they went on sale earlier this year, I made sure to purchase 2 pairs. Although I already had a pair last year, I’m still filing these under “something new” because new sneakers just always feel different – almost like running on clouds. I tend to get good mileage out of my sneakers (between 350-400 miles) so new sneakers always feel so different for me once I make the switch.
If you loved the Moving Comfort Juno sports bras, these are a great dupe! I was so annoyed when Brooks discontinued this style of bra a few years ago and I was on the search for something similar and this sports bra definitely fits the bill! It’s great for high impact activities and there is very little ‘bounce’ factor.
Tell Me: What is your favorite new running item you have tried this year?

I’ve never tried the Honey Stinger powder…that’s something I need to look for. I think I’d actually like the black cherry, LOL (are we really twins?) 😉
kookyrunner says
LOL, we’re still twins even if the black cherry wasn’t my favorite. I really wish my stomach could handle Nuun because they have so many more flavors to choose from, but the honey stinger powder isn’t too bad.

I wish I could wear Brooks but the toe box is too narrow and heel drop too high. They are pretty.
I’ve only tried Nuun and meh so usually drink plain water.
It’s great that there are products that work for everyone.
kookyrunner says
I used to use Nuun but then it started to give me stomach issues 🙁
Wendy says
Yes to that bra!!! It used to be one of my favorites too. Although I do have a few Brooks bras that I like…as you might imagine. :p

I often think about the Juno bra, lol. I had SO many and they were my favorite!

I love Brooks Adrenaline 22 and got a new pair this year – but haven’t bought much else that is running related this year!
kookyrunner says
It’s my favorite style of sneaker!
Deborah Brooks says
I was also bummed when Brooks discontinued some of my fave bras years ago. I had not heard of that brand I will check it out
kookyrunner says
Definitely check it out – I think you would like them! They offer so much support.

I tried the Honey Stinger hydration mix for the first time at around mile 80 of my century ride on Sunday. I though it worked well, and like you, liked that it wasn’t too sweet.
kookyrunner says
That’s awesome! I don’t know too many other people that have tried it out yet.
Zenaida Arroyo says
That was a great bra! I do wish they would bring it back because I need to buy new ones. I remember buying that “dupe” one but cannot remember why I sent it back. Now I feel like I should try it again.
