Happy Tuesday! It’s time for another edition of Tuesday Topics. This week’s Tuesday Topic: What’s one fun running related thing you did over the holidays?
You can write about this, or any other running topic. Remember to link-up with Kim and Zenaida and the bottom of this post.
In all transparency, Zenaida and I made an error and this topic should have been about a fun non-running thing you did over the holidays, lol. Oh well, let’s just rock with it!
While I didn’t travel or do too many fun things over the holidays, one constant was running and working out. Peloton made it easy for me to get in the holiday spirit by offering 25+ holiday classes across all their class types – running, cycling, strength, yoga, cardio, etc. Hands down, the best holiday class I took was Matty’s run. It was a fun class and I loved how he put a different spin on 12 Days of Christmas.
OTF helped me get in the holiday spirit last month as well. I participated in their 12 Days of Fitmas challenge and was lucky enough to squeeze in a workout on Christmas Eve and also participated in Ugly Sweater Day.
Of course the holidays wouldn’t be complete without a virtual group run with other bloggers. We can’t be together in person at a race, but it’s still fun to get together virtual and logged miles on Christmas.
Tell me: What’s one fun running related thing you did over the holidays?

For me it’s just about keeping moving — no big events over the holidays, no big events really looming in the future, either. Except maybe my birthday next month — not so much a big event, but definitely a milestone which hopefully I’ll share with my mom.
I’m glad you had Peloton & OTF to keep you in the holiday mood, Kim!
kookyrunner says
Yup – totally agree about keeping moving, which is sometimes easier said than done!

Love to see you in costume. Isn’t it fun to dress up?
I had a real holiday 5k. It was through the lights in the park. Very fun. We had a pot luck dinner after too.
I also ran a race on New Year’s Day.
I hope you’re back to live costume races next year.

I love dressing it – it’s so fun! i know it’s not for everyone but it always makes me laugh so it’s worth it, lol.

I runfess that I didn’t do any holiday themed running events over the holidays this year. I did run in my holiday gear, so does that count? I love your costumes. You and your mom are so festive!
kookyrunner says
Running in holiday gear totally counts!

I did love how Peloton had all those fun holiday classes! I did some of the stacking stuffers just to get in the spirit of things. I definitely didn’t do as much as you, though- love the ugly sweater day!
kookyrunner says
Weren’t the stacking stuffers fun? I really love the classes because they are short but so effective.

I guess my fun running thing would be finishing my Streak while in transit to Florida. It was a challenge figuring out how to make things work, while driving here and after arriving in a non-familiar place…but that just added to the fun!
kookyrunner says
Finishing your streak definitely counts!

You had great fitness fun over the holidays, Kim!
In Zurich, we have a special winter run in December. It’s a 10k through the city on a Sunday afternoon. It attracts thousands of runners every year and is notorious for being packed full. We missed it this year, but friends of ours went and sent us the photos, just to make sure we got enough FOMO! 😉
kookyrunner says
The Winter run in Zurich sounds so cool!

I did not know about Peloton’s 25+ holiday classes. I think I remember seeing Matty mention his class on Instagram. But he always has one during the holidays too. I haven’t done a run class in almost 2 weeks and I do miss him. He always makes me laugh.
kookyrunner says
Matty is always a riot during any holiday, especially Christmas. I love how he really gets in the spirit!
Deborah Brooks says
I am glad you and your mom did get to do your OTF ugly Christmas sweater tradition this year. You did a great job taking advantage of all the holiday Peloton classes. My fave holiday race was the Hannukah race I was able to do this year
kookyrunner says
I hope to see more Hannukah races in the future so that we can make the holiday season all-inclusive!
Black Knight says
Great photos and very beautiful collage.
My fun running thing was the run I made on Dec. 31st in the evening through the suburbs to enjoy the decorations and the lights. It was an unreal atmosphere because I didn’t meet anyone at that time.
kookyrunner says
That sounds like a beautiful run! The lights are amazing at Christmas time.

I love how you dress up for your Orange Theory classes! You definitely go all out! I didn’t do much other than take lots of the Peloton Holiday classes. It’s become almost a tradition that once those drops, I try to get in as many of those as I can before the new year!
kookyrunner says
Dressing up always makes the class more fun so I enjoy doing it!
Michelle says
I love the fun festive outfits you and your mom wear for the OTF classes!
Matty’s 12 Days class was a favorite of mine too 🙂
kookyrunner says
I kind of wish Matty could do a holiday run every month, lol.
Shathiso says
So much festive goodness in this post! I miss Christmas already! I definitely loved my Christmas Runs – I did one the week before Christmas – it was a virtual relay in festive gear and then I did another one with a couple of people on Christmas Eve. Such a great way of getting into the Christmas Spirit!
kookyrunner says
I miss Christmas too – it seems like it goes by faster each year.

Matty’s class was so fun!
I don’t know if I have a favorite thing. the snow run at canandaigua was a lot of fun so I might use that. Something about playing outside. Of course I totally agree re: our run together.

Matty always makes me laugh – I love his themed classes!
