Happy Sunday! I hope that everyone had a great week. It was a little bit of a weird week here – crazy bad air quality and a busy work week – but I’m still happy with my workouts.
Here’s how my workouts went this week:
Monday, June
Spotify Monster Dance Hits Ride 7/13/21 – Cody (20 minutes)
Hip Hop Run 5/25/23 – Marcel D (30 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness (60 minutes)
My body was a little sore after the Lift45 class the previous day, so I modified a few movements during the OTF class to avoid injuring myself. Marcel’s hip hop run was great – I love her energy, and you also can’t go wrong with a Cody cycle class 🙂
Tuesday, June 6
HIIT Cardio 6/8/21 – Rebecca (10 minutes)
Saturday60: Pop 5/13/23 – Jess (60 minutes)
Cool Down Walk 12/8/22 – Susie (10 minutes)
I had a few early morning meetings so I opted to move this workout to my lunch time. I haven’t done a bootcamp class in about 2 weeks so it felt good to get one in this week. Luckily it wasn’t an advanced bootcamp so it was manageable. I liked using the HIIT cardio class as a warm up too.
Wednesday, June 7
Mood Ride: Calm 5/18/22 – Mila (20 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness (60 minutes)
Intervals Run 6/3/21 – Jess (20 minutes)
Floor Bootcamp 4/11/22 – Jess & Selena (20 minutes)
My arms were not feeling the OTF workout – I was definitely on the struggle bus, but glad to still get in a great workout. I like the floor bootcamps because they are kind of different but it can also be a little distracting since some of the classes are taught by two instructors.
Thursday, June 8
Walk + Run 5/30/23 – Jess (45 minutes)
Mood Ride: Calm 5/26/21 – Mayla (20 minutes)
Ava Max Upper Body Strength 6/8/23 – Jermaine (20 minutes)
Ava Max Pilates 6/8/23 – Aditi (20 minutes)
I had another morning of very early meetings so I moved my workout until the afternoon. Jess dropped this new 45 minute walk + run class last week. The longer walk + run classes are my favorite so I was looking forward to the class and it didn’t disappoint. I loved how she broke up the intervals. I enjoyed the upper body strength class and I’m still trying to enjoy pilates, lol.
Friday, June 9
Mood Ride: Sweet 2/14/22 – Christine (20 minutes)
Speed Date Run 2/16/21 – Jess (20 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness – 500 Meter Benchmark Row (60 minutes)
Focus Flow for Runners 6/7/23 – Denis & Matt (20 minutes)
We have a new coach on Fridays at OTF – well actually he used to coach at my studio and then moved to another local studio, but now he’s back at my studio on Friday mornings. I absolutely love his energy and playlists so I’m glad he is back!I didn’t PR for the 500m benchmark row BUT I basically had the exact time time as when I did the benchmark earlier this year. You can’t say I’m not consistent, haha.
The focus flow class was a nice way to wind down after a crazy week. It was funny to watch Matt do yoga, lol.
Saturday, June 10
Ava Max Ride 6/8/23 – Charlotte (30 minutes)
Ava Max Run 6/8/23 – Marcel D (30 minutes)
Ava Max Full Body Strength 6/8/23 – Assal (20 minutes)
I really enjoyed this stack! I wasn’t sure if I would know any of her songs but I actually knew quite a few, especially in Marcel’s class. I wasn’t planning on being up so early, but decided to take advantage and get my workout done early since I was already up. It ended up being a good thing because it gave me the rest of the morning to run errands, volunteer and visit a local arts & crafts fair.
Sunday, June 11
Barcelona Ride (45 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness – Lift 45 (45 minutes)
The Little Mermaid HIIT Cardio 6/8/23 – Jess (20 minutes)
I visited Barcelona on today’s ride and I very much enjoyed it. I love my “vacation” rides 🙂 Today’s Lift 45 class was awesome. I don’t feel like my chart reflects how hard I was working because I was definitely sweating up a storm.
This week’s stats:
Bootcamp – 60 minutes
Cycle – 32.12 miles
Orangetheory Fitness – 180 minutes
Running – 17.8 miles
Strength Training – 125 minutes
Peloton Artist Series Classes – 1,017/1,025*
*not including rowing classes
It was definitely an odd week in terms of weather. Many states were dealing with horrible air quality due to the massive amount of wildfires in Canada. My city was pretty bad on Tuesday and Wednesday and we were told to keep all the windows closed. The AQI was around 300-400 and a normal AQI is under 100 so yeah…a little nuts! On Wednesday I was on a video call and all of a sudden there was an orange tint by my windows and the person I was speaking to was like “what was that?!”. It also kind of smelled like barbecue outside which was odd too. I’m just glad that’s over and we are now back to breathable air.
I’m still going strong with the OTF Push 30 Challenge. The thing I thought would be the easiest is actually turning out to be the hardest – the water intake. I’m hotting the water intake goal but it’s a struggle on some days and I have to pee SO much which is super annoying, lol. Other than that, it’s been nice to connect with other OTF members online that are doing the challenge as well.
…and now for this week’s funny memes/tweets.
That’s it! I hope you had a great week 🙂
I’m linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.

That air quality photo is really dramatic! I can’t believe how bad it was for you out east. We had some issues here but nothing like that. I’m glad it’s moved on out. I swear, just when we think we are getting back to normal, something else happens.
Funny, that refrigerator meme reminded me that Debbie Woodruff bought a new fridge this week and posted about it. Her old one was OLD! I’m sure the new one won’t last even close to that one.

Regarding the air quality – I never thought we would see something like that over here. I told my friend that I’m ready to get back to “precedented times” again, lol.
The new appliances these days are so crappy! They look great but then breakdown after a few years. It’s so disappointing, and expensive!
Cari says
My kitchen feels seen with the fridge meme – mine was replaced when it broke in 2020 but the stove is still of that vintage or earlier.
“I hope this email finds you well” needs to die. It’s not kind small talk if it’s just a cliche.
Kudos on pushing through the WEEK, capitalizaiton intended. It most certainly was one
kookyrunner says
I love that you still have the stove – at least you know it will won’t break down for many, many years!
Chocolaterunsjudy says
Wow! Our air was never THAT bad thank goodness (although I wasn’t checking it initially). I know it got up to 180 . . .
Still sounds like you had a great week, both in fitness and everyday living.
My mom had a refrigerator that was older than I was. They may still work, but they’re also contributing to climate change. However there has to be a happy medium somewhere! I sort of want to buy a new car but mine is still doing well and I hear lots of horror stories!
kookyrunner says
I’m glad that the air by you never got to the crazy dramatic levels that we had – NYC was much worse too!
I was thinking of trading in my car to get something a little bigger but like you, I’ve heard horror stories so i decided to keep my car.

Ha ha- I love those memes!
Your smoky air was really extreme (can you imagine what it was like closer to the fires?) Glad things are back to normal for you.
Yeah, it’s hard to drink a lot of water. My husband has been trying to drink 100 oz a day, and failing. I can’t even imagine- I would be living in the bathroom. I’m sure I should be drinking more than I am, though.
kookyrunner says
I can’t imagine how bad it was in Canada 🙁 I really hope that the firefighters are able to get in under control.
Deborah Brooks says
It was funny to watch Matt do yoga w Denis! Matt looked so stiff and small next to Denis! The air quality was so bad I’ve never had anything like it. I drink a lot of water too and I do pee all the time 🙂 All of your memes made me laugh this week!
kookyrunner says
Yes, Matt looked like he wanted to be anywhere but that class, LOL.
San says
Ugh, I am so sorry you were impacted by the wildfire smoke. We’ve had our fair share of that here in California and every time it happens, it just so awful (and surreal!). I am glad the smoke went away!
kookyrunner says
I’m glad that the smoke went away quickly and only lasted a few days! I can’t imagine what the Canadians are going through currently 🙁
Kimberly Hatting says
I think a lot of us took advantage of the Denis/Matt yoga class! The meme about the refrigerator reminds of my in-laws…they had the same avocado green stove and refrigerator (and matching kitchen sink!) when they moved to assisted living. I’m sure the new owners promptly replaced those beauties!
kookyrunner says
I love the look of the old school avocado appliances!
Darlene says
Don’t you hate when work gets in the way of working out. It was smoky here but not that bad compared to other places.
These memes are the best so far.
That was me last night.

The photo of air quality is really dramatic, I follow the situation by TV. I am very sorry.
Love the memes.
Barcelona is a very beautiful city I went there many times for work and for tourism (also with a cruise ship).
Have a good week.
kookyrunner says
I would love to visit Barcelona in person one day – it looks like such a fun city!
Jenn says
Your meme collection is the best! For real!
That air quality is insane! I’m so sorry this is happening. I hope you are staying safe.
I’m glad you are loving those vacation rides.
kookyrunner says
I will admit that I stumbled upon some great quality memes this past week, lol.

great week and well done on keeping up your OTF push challenge! I have been also drinking less water lately so I’ve really kicked it up a notch again, especially since it’s warm. I love that you virtually rode in Barcelona! Now there’s a place I’m not sure I would physically ride, as it has always seemed so dang busy! Then again I haven’t been there in like 20+ years so maybe the biking infrastructure is better now. By the way what is up with people who schedule early morning meetings?? Just chill. I need to get my workout in AND my breakfast thankyouverymuch!
kookyrunner says
Luckily the super early morning meetings don’t happen too often, but we like to accommodate our employees in Asia so that the meetings aren’t too late in their evening time.
Liz Dexter says
Love the memes! That air quality is scary. We’ve just had pollen and thunder here and sudden hot temps, fortunately OK at 6.15 am when I go for my run! Lots of great work in your classes – still don’t know how you do it!
