Happy Sunday! I hope that everyone had a great week. I very much enjoyed my staycation and for the first time the week didn’t seem to fly by, so it felt like I had a good amount of time off. During the week I worked out as usual, cleaned and organized a few things, watched a lot of TV and basically just chilled out – it was great!
Here’s how my workouts went this week:
Monday, July 6
Orangetheory Fitness – ESP (45 minutes)
Peloton JLO Run 10/13/19 – Rebecca (30 minutes)
Day 1 of my staycation! I love ESP days at Orangetheory because you get a little bit of everything. My legs were pretty sore after class but I still wanted to get in a few more miles so I did a 30 minute run once I got home. I ended up with a little over 4 miles for the day.
Tuesday, July 7
Peloton Paul McCartney & Wings Ride 7/19/19 – Denis (30 minutes)
Peloton Philly Soul Ride 2/6/20 – Jenn (30 minutes)
4 mile walk
I was surprised at how many songs I recognized on the Paul McCartney & Wings ride – it was fun! Also I really like Denis as an instructor – I need to take his classes more often. The Philly Soul ride was just what you would guess, soulful! I loved that I knew most of the songs. Philly Soul is the type of music that will automatically put you in a good mood. My mom also had the day off work so we went for a 4 mile walk in the morning.
Wednesday, July 8
Peloton Advanced Core Bootcamp 7/6/19 – Jess (60 minutes)
Peloton Whitney Houston Arms Toning 7/1/20 – Ally (10 minutes)
My least favorite body part to work on is my core so I was hesitant to take this bootcamp class. I was correct to be concerned, lol. It was hard and I had to do modifications for some of the core exercises, but it was a great workout. After class I did a quick 10 minute toning workout for my arms. Let me just say that 3lb weights don’t sound heavy but they get heavy rather quickly when you’re doing 10 minutes of all different upper body exercises with no breaks!
Thursday, July 9
Orangetheory Fitness – Power (45 minutes)
Melissa Etheridge Ride 12/11/19 – Christine (30 minutes)
I really enjoyed this OTF class this because everything just clicked. I felt really good on the treadmill, rower and floor. Also I think I’m getting stronger on the rower which is a surprise, but I’ll take it!
Friday, July 10
Orangetheory Fitness – ESP (45 minutes)
Peloton Billy Joel Run 11/17/19 – Matt (30 minutes)
Every month we have themed workouts at my OTF studio. Today’s theme was Hawaii Day. I purchased some items from Party City to dress up for the occasion (luckily I already had the shirt). It was an ESP workout – endurance, strength and power – and it kicked my butt (although my stats don’t really show that). Followed up class with a Billy Joel themed run which was actually a lot of fun – sometimes I forget how many hit songs he has!
Saturday, July 11
Peloton Cher Run 5/31/19 – Matty (45 minutes)
Peloton Cher Ride 6/13/19 – Ally (30 minutes)
Peloton Coldplay Yoga 11/21/19 – Anna (30 minutes)
These Cher classes were SO much fun! I’ve always liked Cher’s songs and it’s so much better when you can sing along during a workout. It takes your mind off the fact that you’re running a sprint interval!
The yoga class was actually pretty good! I love Coldplay and knew all the songs that Anna played during the class. I’m going to try to commit to doing one yoga class per week. I know it’s not much, but I need to take baby steps, lol.
Sunday, July 12
Orangetheory Fitness – Strength (45 minutes)
Peloton Diana Ross Ride 2/14/19 – Ally (30 minutes)
Fun strength class this morning at OTF. I spent a lot of time on the rower which I’m actually starting to like, but we had inclines on the treadmill which I definitely do not like, lol. Flushed out my legs once I was back home with a 30 minute cycle class.
Total Weekly Mileage: 17.1 miles
Summary: 8 runs*, 5 cycle class, 4 OTF class and 1 bootcamp classes.
*I include running from my OTF workouts, boot camp classes and stand alone runs.
Peloton Artist Series Classes Progress – 57/89
Grade This Week β A
So I joined 2 more challenges this week (lol). Peloton launched their Pelothon 2020 challenge that will run from July 13-August 9. Here’s a little more about the challenge:
“Join us on your Bike, Tread or App for an unmissable series of events and challenges. Work together with your team, earn badges and make an impact along the way. Throughout the month, weβre donating $1 million to four of our hunger relief partners.”
I love that the challenge will donate money to hunger relief organizations since I know these organizations have been hit with increased demand due to COVID-19. There were six teams to choose from and I selected the #LegendsOfFun team – I couldn’t pass up the combination of Jess and Cody on the same team!
I’m also doing the OTF #BackAtItChallenge from July 6-August 31. This is a great way to encourage members to slowly get back in a routine after being out of the studio for 3+ months. The categories include in-studio or at-home workouts, outdoor cardio workouts, changing sleeping habits, healthy eating habits, recovery workouts and OTF at home challenge workouts.
…and now for this week’s meme collection..
That’s it! I hope you had a great week π
Iβm linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.
In Case You Missed It

So true about the bra…and what about no shoes, no shirt, NO MASK…companies can decide what is appropriate for their business and the ability for them to run it safely. If the Home Depot told people you had to wear closed toed shoes because sandals were dangerous, would it be political? UGH.
Anyways, great week of workouts as always! You continue to amaze me with your motivation π Way to go!
kookyrunner says
Exactly! I absolutely hate that wearing a mask has been made into a political thing. Everyone should do everything they can to stay safe and keep others safe. I just don’t understand why there’s os much opposition about wearing a mask. You would think people were being asked to both a child. It’s crazy.
Kimberly Hatting says
You had another solid week! You mentioned Billy Joel…yes, he’s a legend π We’ve seen him in concert twice (once was with Sir Elton LOL). You are gonna be busy kicking #KimBooty with your two challenges π Your Hawaiian class sounds like a fun time!
kookyrunner says
I haven’t seen Billy Joel in concert but I do enjoy his songs! I think he has performed at Madison Square Garden multiple times – hopefully he’ll be back once things are a little bit more normal.
The Hawaiian class was so much fun!
Wendy says
I have blocked so many people on FB that my feed is pretty repetitious, lol! So I stay away too. Love all your memes as usual. A sense of humor is pretty much the only thing that keeps me going these days. What is up with these so called experts who haven’t a clue–they are the same people who don’t want to vaccinate their kids. Trust me, I’ve dealt with them before…
Have fun on the Pelothon! Excited to hear how it goes.
kookyrunner says
Yup – I can guarantee those are the same types of people. It’s so frustrating because I don’t get how people can argue with science but here we are!
Thanks! I’m excited for Pelothon – it should be fun.
Judy @ Chocolaterunsjudy says
I always love your memes, Kim! You find great ones. Glad you had a good staycation!
I did a Dennis ride today (Queen). Kinda on the fence about him.
Billy Joel is definitely my era, and I know a ton of songs . . .
kookyrunner says
I had a great staycation – thanks!
I did the Queen ride with Denis too – it was okay, but I feel like he has better classes available. Sometimes I don’t like that his classes have a super long warm up.
Michelle @ Running with Attitude says
You know that Kanye meme cracks me up!
What an awesome week of workouts – it looks like you’ve quickly gotten back into the OTF groove!
I’m looking forward to the Pelothon challenge – and you’ve got me thinking I need to check out some of the Artist Series classes.
So glad you had a good staycation π
kookyrunner says
I feel like I’m definitely back in the OTF groove. I was worried that I’d be really out of shape when I went back but Peloton has really helped me keep my base over the past few months.
The Pelothon challenge is going to be great! I’m looking forward to taking classes with new-to-me instructors.
Marcia says
Sounds like you made the most of your staycation! Billy Joel was never my fave but when we saw him in concert? WOW! So talented and what a career.
We donated a whole bunch of old sneakers today finally out of our garage. OMG it was embarrassing what had accumulated!
kookyrunner says
I haven’t seen him in concert but I have no doubt that he puts on a great show!
Lisa @ TechChick Adventures says
Great week of relaxing… and getting all of those workouts in!! One year we did a staycation and decided to buy dinner every night. It actually got to be a bit too much after a few days and we decided to stay home and cook again π
kookyrunner says
Thanks Lisa! We only got takeout twice last week which is about all I can handle. I find that I get sick of takeout rather quickly!
Deborah Brooks says
I do love your memes! Glad you enjoyed your staycation even though you could not go on a real one. So excited for our Peloton challenge
kookyrunner says
I’m so pumped for the Pelothon challenge. It should be find and I’m looking forward to taking some of Erik’s cycle classes – I’ve never taken a class with him before.
Zenaida Arroyo says
I love Billy Joel! He has a concert in August at Wrigley Field but that isn’t happening this year.
Cody!!! I am excited but nervous too since I don’t use the Peloton that much.
Oh Kanye….caramba! I have no idea what is going on in his head.
kookyrunner says
Cody is such a gem. He just always puts me in the best mood no matter what.
I just need Kanye to stay away from the media for a while!
Coco says
Kim, you do find the best memes! They are all spot on! π Iβm glad you enjoyed your staycation. You got some great workouts in! I love the spirit of your OTF studio. Iβm going all in with Peloton and havenβt bothered with the OTF at home workouts in ages. π
kookyrunner says
So glad that you enjoy the memes – we have to find some laughter in all the craziness, right?!
Beckett @ Birchwood Pie says
Ha ha when I see a workout with 3# weights I know to be afraid, very afraid. I’ve gotten a bit better at running hills on the road but I break out in a cold sweat at the idea of doing them on the treadmill.
kookyrunner says
LoL exactly! I will never be fooled again by the innocent looking 3lb weights!
Lisa @ Mile by Mile says
Glad you had a good staycation! Looks like a great week of workouts. I love Billy Joel- he has so many good songs! As usual I love all your memes.
kookyrunner says
Agreed! Sometimes I forgot how many hit songs an artist has. He definitely has timeless songs that can still be enjoyed today.
Darlene says
Love Billy Joel. We share a bday and have seen him in concert many times.
A staycation is a fantastic idea.
Never took one. Always want to go away.
You find the best memes.
kookyrunner says
Yeah his music is really timeless, which I love.
Jenn says
I’ve totally given up on the bra, too, lol!
You are incredibly strong and I’m not surprised to see you making so much progress! You’ve been working so hard.
Hawaii Day is adorable!
kookyrunner says
Hawaii Day was a lot of fun and I was glad that other people dressed up for the occasion.
Melissa says
Ha, your memes are the best. Sounds like a pretty good staycation! Glad you were able to enjoy it, even being at home. And the bra – I still wear it, but I’ve found mostly comfy ones or sports bras most days. Especially since I have tons of conference call/sZooms that require looking semi nice.
kookyrunner says
I still wear my bra even working from home. I don’t want the girls to get used to hanging too much since eventually we will be leaving the house to do more than grocery shopping lol
Montana @ Pretty Lil Mudder says
Uphill on the tread is the worst lol. I’d much rather sprint an actual hill. :-p
I love your memes. The Simpsons one is so on point. So many people think they are experts on this and they have zero medical experience or knowledge.
Looks like you’re rocking those challenges! Cheers to a great first week!
kookyrunner says
Agree! Just anything with a incline or hill and I’m automatically like nope!
The Simpsons meme was my favorite this week lol
Debbie @ Deb Runs says
I’m glad you had a great staycation and it sounds like your workouts went well! Your OTF Hawaii Day sounds fun and everyone looks quite festive! Did people shed some of their warmer clothes for the workout?
kookyrunner says
I was so happy that other people dressed up for Hawaii Day because sometimes I’m the only person that dresses up lol. For the most part people stayed in costume which was amazing!
Liz Dexter says
Great work this week and I love the Hawaii Day costumes!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Liz!
Cari says
Coronacoaster, so true. I wish I had a Puerto Backyarda. You know that meme that’s floating around with fancy cars and a beach/lake house where you can pick only two? All about the outdoor space, although I’ve been in the park. A lot.
Glad you had a great week off.
kookyrunner says
I don’t really have Puerto Backyarda but I have a deck so I try to enjoy that when it’s not too hot outside lol.
