Happy Sunday! It was another hot and humid week here. I feel like this summer has been super humid – it’ just so icky. On the plus side, I officially started my staycation after logging off work on Friday so I’m looking forward to a week of not answering emails and sitting it on tons of meetings.
Here’s how my workouts went this week.
Monday, August 22
AFO Walk + Run: Tove Lo 8/19/22 – Becs (15 minutes)
AFO Bootcamp: Tove Lo 8/19/22 – Joslyn (30 minutes)
AFO Ride: Tove Lo 8/19/22 – Bradley (15 minutes)
AFO Pilates: Tove Lo 8/19/22 – Aditi (15 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness (60 minutes)
#nevermissamondy! I enjoy starting off my week with an OTF class especially with my favorite coach. It was a good class to build up some mileage for marathon month but the strength block was super boring. For each block there were 2 different moves that you did on repeat. Granted there were three blocks so we have different moves each block, but I still found it to be boring. I also completed all of the Tove Lo classes. Another artist that I *thought* I didn’t know, but then I ended up recognizing two of her songs while doing the classes, lol. There are lots of songs that I enjoy but never know the artist name so this was one of those instances.
Tuesday, August 23
AFO Run: Muse 8/21/22 – Becs (30 minutes)
AFO Cool Down Walk: John Mayer 8/19/22 – Rebecca (10 minutes)
Full Body Strength 5/14/22 – Callie (30 minutes)
Feel Good Ride 5/15/22 – Ally (30 minutes)
AFO Post-Ride Stretch: Odesza 8/19/22 – Charlotte (5 minutes)
At first glance, I thought I wasn’t familiar with Muse but was pleasantly surprised that I recognized a few songs on Becs playlist. I think I might keep the John Mayer cool down walk in rotation because it was really good. I’m looking forward to taking the rest of the John Mayer classes too.
Wednesday, August 24
Orangetheory Fitness (60 minutes)
AFO Walk + Run: Big Sean 8/20/22 – Jess (30 minutes)
AFO Full Body Strength: Big Sean 8/20/22 – Assal – (30 minutes)
AFO Full Body Stretch: Florence + The Machine 8/19/22 – Hannah C (10 minutes)
I’m finally closing in on my goal for marathon month at OTF. I should be able to hit my distance by the end of my class on Saturday (fingers crossed). Loved the Big Sean classes, especially the walk + run. That class should have been called hike + run because Jess had us on a high incline for all the walking sections of class. The strength class was my first class with the new strength instructor in Germany, Assal. I enjoyed the class, even with all of the turkish get-ups, lol.
Thursday, August 25
AFO Bike Bootcamp: Purple Disco Machine 8/19/22 – Cody (30 minutes)
AFO Bike Arms: Purple Disco Machine 8/19/22 – Cody (10 minutes)
AFO Bike Upper Body Strength: Purple Disco Machine 8/19/22 – Erik (20 minutes)
AFO Run: Purple Disco Machine 8/19/22 – Marcel M (20 minutes)
AFO Hike: Purple Disco Machine 8/19/22 – Rebecca (20 minutes)
AFO Run: Purple Disco Machine 8/19/22 – Becs (20 minutes)
AFO Post-Run Stretch: Alanis Morissette 8/19/22 – Tobias (5 minutes)
I didn’t have an OTF class so I decided to knock off a few AFO classes off my list. Purple Disco Machine is another “new to me” artist. Rebecca Kennedy described the sound perfectly as ‘disco music meets house music’. The songs were upbeat and perfect to get me through this stack of cycling, strength and running/walking!
Friday, August 26
AFO Walk + Run: Florence + Machine 8/19/22 – Selena (20 minutes)
AFO Arms: Florence + The Machine 8/19/22 – Tunde (10 minutes)
AFO Bodyweight Strength: The 1975 8/19/22 – Logan (10 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness (60 minutes)
AFO Power Flow Yoga: Florence + The Machine 8/19/22 – Mariana (20 minutes)
I’m not a huge fan of Florence + The Machine (I like 2-3 of their songs) but these classes were good. I really liked the structure of the walk + run and arms classes. The OTF workout was a “switch” day, so we changed between strength and cardio every 10 minutes. It was a nice way to make the class go by faster.
Saturday, August 27
AFO Core Strength: Odesza 8/19/22 – Emma (10 minutes)
AFO Run: Latto 8/19/22 – Kirsten (15 minutes)
AFO Ride: Latto 8/19/22 – Robin (15 minutes)
AFO Arms & Shoulder Strength: Saweetie 8/19/22 – Callie (20 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness (60 minutes)
I was pleasantly surprised with Emma’s core class – it was hard, but not brutal like many of her core classes, lol. The Latto run and ride classes were awesome! Loved the playlists for both. It was another great OTF class – I’ve enjoyed the classes this week. This class felt like a mix of an endurance and strength template.
I also “officially” completed marathon month since I hit 26.2 miles for the month…but since there are still a few days left in August. I’m going to aim to complete the ultra distance (31.1 miles) by taking two classes next week.
Sunday, August 28
AFO Walk: Alanis Morissette 8/21/22 – Jess K (30 minutes)
AFO Glutes & Legs Strength: Becky G 8/19/22 – Selena (10 minutes)
AFO Ride: Becky G 8/19/22 – Hannah C (20 minutes)
Yoga Flow 5/14/22 – Anna (45 minutes)
Decided to make today more of an active recovery day since I had a good amount of hard workouts this week. My legs appreciate a day off from weights and running š
Summary:
Running – 19.4 miles
Cycle – 19.28 miles
Strength Training – 165 minutes
Orangetheory Fitness – 240 minutes
Peloton Artist Series Classes – 704/822
Orangetheory announced the dates for their September DriTri earlier in the week so of course I had to sign up. I don’t know why enjoy this event so much because it’s so hard, but I think I just enjoy the feeling of accomplishment once it’s done.
I don’t really have any plans for my week off but I am looking forward to the break!
…and now for this week’s memes.

Thanks to Deborah for sending me this one!
That’s it! I hope you had a great week š
Iām linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.
In Case You Missed It
Tuesday Topics: Running Items I’ve Tried This Year
Way to conquer that marathon distance at OTF! You really racked up a ton of Peloton classes too. Enjoy your staycation hope you get some rest and do something fun. Love all the dog memes š
The dog memes were my favorite this week too lol
Congrats on reaching your OTF marathon goal! I k ew youād get it done.
I havenāt done any of the Lotto classes. I think next in my list is Camillaās T-Pain ride. He was so funny in Jessās class.
Enjoy your week off!
I still have to take the T-Pain classes so I’m looking forward to seeing him in both Jess and Camila’s classes. He seems like a lot of fun, lol.
Hee hee! Love the dog memes. Congratulations on finishing your OTF marathon! Good luck on the ultra. And, you’re really making your way through the artist series classes- very impressive.
The dog memes were definitely my most favorite of the week, lol.
Oh, El Arroyo has the best signs! We ate there — so very many years ago. Actually I though the signs were so much better than the food.
Sometimes no plans are the best thing! I hope you are able to decompress this week!
I have never been to El Arroyo but the signs make me want to go!
Love that last meme.
Enjoy your week off. I’ve never taken a stay-cation but I think I should.
Staycations are great! They always give me the chance to do thinks around the house and catch up on running errands.
Woot!! Congrats on the OTF marathon!! I have to laugh at all these AFO classes…I can’t even remember the ones I’ve done because I don’t know most of the artists (nor have I recognized much of the music). Call me lame, LOL.
LOL – I am not familiar with many of the AFO artists but so far I have liked most of the classes. But I pretty much like anything besides country music š
I hope you’re having a fabulous staycation! Great job on closing in on your OTF marathon month goal!
BTW you should get bonus points for enjoying any class with lots of Turkish getups! LOL
Thanks Debbie! OMG those tukish getups get me every time, and they never get easier, lol.
You are killing it Kim! Way to get that OTF marathon!
OMG that UPS meme is Ozzy exactly! Our guy has him trained to expect a cookie. He can hear the truck as soon as it pulls into the neighborhood! It’s a sad day when the truck doesn’t stop here. Haha!
The UPS meme was so cute! I love that your UPS guy gives Ozzy a cookie š
Listen, you had a great week. But let’s talk some more about the emergency puppy.
haha right?! I really need that to be a real thing!
I’m in awe of your work as usual! Have a good week off – well, I’m so behind you’re half-way through it by now!
Thanks so much Liz!
Congrats on completing your marathon distance. As always, so impressed by the wide variety and amount of workouts you get in. Great week.
thanks so much Michele!
