Happy Sunday! I hope that everyone had a good week. I’m currently enjoying a min-staycation as I took off work Thursday and Friday. It was much needed as things have been so hectic the last few weeks.
Here’s how my workouts went this week:
Monday, October 17
LHHM Celebration Run 9/30/22 – Becs (30 minutes)
Latin Ride 9/30/22 – Robin (30 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness (60 minutes)
#nevermissamonday! I loved my small Peloton stack of LHHM classes. Playlists were amazing as usual and Robin shared some family stories that were really interesting. I’m also amazed at Becs and how she is still able to make running seem so effortless even though she is 8 months pregnant! The workout of the day for OTF was also really good – endurance on the treadmill and strength/power on the floor. Overall it was a nice way to kick off the week.
Tuesday, October 18
World Mental Health Day Run 10/9/22 – Jeffrey (30 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness (60 minutes)
Hip Hop Yoga Flow 10/9/22 – Kirra (30 minutes)
I learned more about Jeffrey and his backstory during the World Mental Health Day run and it made me enjoy running with him even more. Luckily I was able to use the English captions option for the class so I could follow along with everything he was saying. The template for the OTF class was sneakily hard, especially the strength block. I was on the struggle bus for sure, lol. The playlist for the hip hop yoga class was great!
Wednesday, October 19
Unity Run 10/3/22 – Multiple Instructors (30 minutes)
Unity Warm Up Ride 10/3/22 – Mayla (10 minutes)
Unity Ride 10/3/22 – Multiple Instructors (30 minutes)
Bachata Upper Body Strength 10/15/22 – Rad (20 minutes)
LHHM Celebration Yoga Flow 10/15/22 – Mariana (30 minutes)
The Unity run and ride classes features all of the German instructors. I love these type of classes! Jeffrey, Marcel and Tobias were awesome during the run and each instructor spoke a lot about their memories of different cities in Germany. Erik, Cliff, Charlotte, Benny and Mila taught the ride class and they also shared their fondest memories about Germany, especially Berlin. You can never go wrong with an upper body strength class with Rad, especially when it includes his signature dance moves!
Thursday, October 20
Black History Month Full Body Strength 10/13/22 – Jermaine (20 minutes)
LHHM Celebration Ride 10/8/22 – Jess K (30 minutes)
Juneteenth Run 6/17/22 – Kirsten (30 minutes)
Latin Run 9/22/22 – Jeffrey (20 minutes)
Cool Down Walk 8/24/22 – Jermaine (10 minutes)
I decided to do my strength and cycle class before heading outside for a few miles. For some reason I thought I had done the Juneteenth run already, but I must have done the treadmill run and not the outdoor run. I really enjoyed the music and the message from Kirsten. Jeffrey’s latin run was a lot of fun too.
Friday, October 21
Daddy Yankee Run 10/12/22 – Robin (30 minutes)
Daddy Yankee Ride 10/11/22 – Ally (30 minutes)
Orangetheory Fitness (60 minutes)
Started off my day with two great Daddy Yankee classes. Apparently the OTF template for class was not a Hell Week template which confused me because it was insane.
Saturday, October 22
Black History Month Run 10/15/22 – Joslyn (30 minutes)
Hip Hop Walk 10/20/22 – Jess (15 minutes)
Daddy Yankee Ride 10/12/22 – Camila (30 minutes)
Daddy Yankee Ride 10/12/22 – Erik (20 minutes)
Reggaeton Ride 10/13/22 – Denis (20 minutes)
I totally forgot that this weekend was PeloFondo. Luckily I got a reminder on Friday night so I didn’t totally blow it off. I knew there was no way I was going to do 50 miles over the weekend so I dropped down to pledging 25 miles, which was way more manageable. I added the two Daddy Yankee rides to my stack to get in extra miles for the day.
Sunday, October 22
Reggaeton Ride 10/7/22 – Ally (30 minutes)
Dembrow Ride 10/15/22 – Camila (30 minutes)
Babyface Core Strength: GNO 10/21/22 – Adrian (20 minutes)
Grime Shadowboxing 10/19/22 – Kendall (20 minutes)
Today I finished up all of the LHHM classes and the rest of my miles for PeloFondo.
Summary:
Running – 20.3 miles
Cycle – 54.13 miles
Strength Training – 60 minutes
Orangetheory Fitness – 180 minutes
Peloton Artist Series Classes – 837/850
I had a pretty good week probably due to the fact that I only worked three days, lol. The mini-staycation was good and very much needed. I’m also off tomorrow as it’s a Mental Health Day off for my company. Although it is nice to have two of these days off during the year (one in May and one in October) I kinda wish it was a Mental Health Day long weekend or week off – totally wishful thinking on my part, haha.
Next week is Hell Week at OTF. I am mentally preparing myself for it now as I’m still sore from Friday’s workout. This year the studio is doing a different theme every day of the week (Monster Monday, TV Tuesday, etc) so it will be fun to play along.
…and now for this week’s memes.
Thanks to Deborah for sending me these two:
That’s it! I hope you had a great week š
Iām linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.

Yay! I’m glad you’re enjoying your staycation. I know your work has been crazy so you really needed it! Sounds like you had some really fun workouts this week. Good luck going into Hell Week- I can’t wait to hear all about it.
kookyrunner says
Thanks Jenny! I am already dreading Hell Week and I don’t know why I sign up for this every year, lol.
Deborah Brooks says
Oh you snuck in that Pelofondo! Nice work this week. I am also impressed by your 30 min of yoga. Funny, I used to go to in person hot yoga classes that were an hour long and now I struggle to do yoga more than 15 min. Nice variety this week!
kookyrunner says
I think I did the bare minimum amount of miles for PeloFondo. For yoga, I often gave to do modifications because my body just doesn’t bend certain ways, lol.
Darlene Cardillo says
Glad you enjoyed your mini staycation. could use one of those.
Nice work on those workouts.
And those memes – the best this week!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Darlene, and I hope you get to take a staycation soon!
Kimberly Hatting says
I saw those memes earlier, and both are so funny (and true). Dang, I missed another PeloFondoā¦ugh!!!! Iām gonna hop on the indoor bike in a bit, so maybe that can count, LOL. OMG, Jeffrey is a hoot!!! I have done his 30-minute AFO Maroon 5 run /walk many times for the music & his humor š
kookyrunner says
Jeffrey has such a bright spirit – I just love him!
Michelle says
Yay for a staycation! I’m glad you enjoyed a couple of days off.
One of these times I’ll actually catch the PeloFondo. Nice job on all your workouts!
Good luck with Hell Week š
kookyrunner says
Thanks Michelle! Those days off were very much needed for my sanity, lol.
Wendy says
Nice job on the Pelo Fondo!!! I’m just wrapping up a week out of town with my sister and I’m so sad it’s over. I sure wish my employer had mental health days!
kookyrunner says
I hope you’re enjoying your time in California – all of your photos were amazing!
Lisa @ TechChick Adventures says
It’s funny because I always work only 3 days a week and yet by the time Sunday night rolls around I am wishing it was Thursday again and thinking of all of the things I didn’t accomplish!! I agree though, it is very nice.
Great workouts this week!!
kookyrunner says
I wish we could work more like they do in Europe. If I could take siestas daily then working 5 days a week wouldn’t seem bad lol.
Coco says
Yay for a Staycation. And I love that your company puts such an emphasis on mental health. The closest I came recently is not doing any client work on Thursday. I read a book on the plane, met a friend for lunch, and then when to a work-related reception and dinner.
I did not get my -ish together to sign up for OTF in time for hell week. I want to find out the studio schedule before I commit.
kookyrunner says
Yes, I’m very thankful that they take mental health seriously. They even provided us with a free subscription to the Headspace app last year.
Debbie @ Deb Runs says
I’m glad you had/are wrapping up a relaxing staycation! Those are so good for getting stuff done around the house and just recharging in general. Nice job on your workout!
kookyrunner says
Thanks Debbie!
Liz Dexter says
Glad you got to have a rest with your staycation! Well, a rest from work … I have an actual holiday booked for next month, and of course one of my clients has booked in a load of jobs just before it, so I’ll need it even more. Love the memes – yes, indeed, on the baby pockets!!
kookyrunner says
that’s so great that you booked a holiday for next month – you deserve it!
Jenn says
I’m stealing that meme about punishments being adult goals. How true.
Sounds like a good week for you! Glad you enjoyed your classes. That always helps the workouts feel better.
kookyrunner says
Steal away! I think that’s one of the most truthful memes out there lol
Chocolaterunsjudy says
Yay for a mini staycation! I can bet that helped. A little, at least.
I didn’t even know Becs was pregnant . . . . I don’t use the mill as often in the Summer. Obviously. š
Good luck with Hell week!
kookyrunner says
It did help a little – always nice to have a few days off from all the craziness!
Marcia says
A staycation sounds pretty wonderful to me! Because I spend so much time working at home, I feel like I never really break away. Way to sneak in that Pelo Fondo. Some of my coaching clients did it but not I.
kookyrunner says
I know how you feel. I spend so much time in my room since I work from home in my room, sleep in my room, etc. For the staycation I explore a different room in the house, normally the basement, lol
