Happy Sunday! Can you believe that we closed out another month this week? March has already started out with a few inches of snow so I’m starting to think that the groundhog was wrong. But that’s okay, while I don’t like snow, I don’t mind Winter and I don’t even want to think about Spring because that’s peak allergy season – ugh!
I’m so excited to link up for Weekly Run Down this week. If you didn’t know the Weekly Wrap link up had been retired, but thank you to Deborah and Kim for hosting the new Weekly Run Down link up!
Here’s how my workouts went this week:
Monday, February 25
5 mile run + core work (20 mins).
It was super windy (like shake my car windy) so I opted for 5 miles on the treadmill. Recently I’ve been adding something extra after my runs (core work, strength training, etc) and I really like. I know all of these small things add up over time.
Tuesday, February 26
2 mile run + Spinning (45 mins).
The spinning class featured pop music from the 90s so it was super fun! I loved jamming along while on the bike.
Wednesday, February 27
Boot Camp (60 mins).
As usual, I came home sore. No surprise there!
Thursday, February 28
6 mile run.
It’s always a little rough to run the day after boot camp but I’m hoping that eventually my legs will get used to it.
Friday, March 1
A much needed rest day!
Saturday, March 2
5 mile run + strength training (20 mins).
I woke up to a good amount of snow so it was off to the treadmill to get in some miles! I followed up the run with 20 mins of strength training (10 mins arms / 10 mins core).
Sunday, March 3
Spinning (60 mins).
I enjoyed the spinning class today. Although I really, really enjoy the Peloton spinning classes, I love the energy of taking a live class and being in a spin room with other people. The class was packed today (just one empty bike) so it got rather warm in there, but extra sweat makes for a great workout, right?
Total Weekly Mileage: 18 miles
Summary: 4 runs, 2 spinning classes and 3 strength training workouts
Grade This Week ā A-
Overall I am really pleased with my workouts this week. I felt like every single workout, even my runs, went well. I also have a goal for the month of March to do core work every day. My hope is that it will turn into a habit if I do it every day this month. I know that my core can definitely be stronger and that’s one thing I want to focus on before marathon training starts in the summer.
Earlier this week I found out that there will be a free Shamrock Stroll 5K in my city in 2 weeks. It’s more of a “fun run” but I still plan on doing it with a few ladies from my weekend running crew – it should be fun!
That’s it for this week! Now I’m off to do some cleaning and meal prepping for next week. We’re expecting another snow storm overnight so I’ll probably work from home tomorrow, but I still want to have my lunch prepared š
Did you have a good week?
Iām linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.

Oh dear, all that snow! We had some freakishly warm weather this week although it’s blowing a gale and raining right now. You’re reminding me a) core, and b) spin, let’s hope I can start to work in both as they’re things I need and like. Well done for a strong week!
It’s always so hard to fit everything in – we need more hours in the day!
“Like shake my car windy”…ha ha ha ha. That sounds like Iowa wind LOL I have not even looked ahead to see what’s in store this week. I have a 10K on Saturday, and I don’t know if I want to be looking forward to it or dreading it if the weather doesn’t play nice. Thankfully, some of our snow melted this past week, and most of the streets are clear….just wishing the temps would be a little friendlier. Thanks for joining us on the link-up š
I hope that the weather for your 10K is okay this weekend. We’ve been slammed with snow since Friday. Winter waited until March to really bring on the snow, including 8 inches of snow overnight. Ugh!
I agree, it is hard to run the day after bootcamp! But it had to be done and I ended up having a great run.
You’re getting snow and we’re going back to the deep freeze. Will winter ever end? Stay tuned…
I feel like Winter decided to really amp it up once it hit March. We’ve gotten snow every day this month, including another 8 inches of snow overnight. WHY???
Wow, you got a lot of snow! We got a bit of hail early Friday morning, and then rain Friday night. The Sunday spin class I go to is full — even the bikes up front facing the instructor. Luckily I’ve only had to take one of those once! Side planks are in my PT routine, but I try to do front planks too – just for a 1 minute hold. I know a strong core is so important, but it’s so easy to slack off on.
It’s funny that we’re getting the bulk of our snow in March. We just got another 8 inches overnight lol.
SO glad you had a great week! I am also aiming to do at LEAST 10 min of core a day. So far so good this week! I also like going to classes when I can because the energy and motivation is much better for me.
Agree! The energy that you get from a class cannot be replicated in doing an at home workout.
Great week!!
Every time I check the forecast the snow totals keep rising…I’m not amused!
Stay warm š
haha same here! We got another 8 inches overnight so back to the treadmill for me today š
This weather is bananas. I think you had a little more snow when we had rain, but in the city we’ve had more snow in March than all winter combined. This is not OK
I love that deep dish shirt
Congrats on a solid week
Agreed! It’s also so weird that we’re getting the bulk of our snow this season in March. It’s actually snowed everyday in March so far lol. We got another 8 inches of snow overnight.
Sounds like a great week! I’m with you on spring – I never want to think about allergy season.
I’m already dreading allergy season and it’s still a few weeks away, sigh.
WOW- that’s a lot of snow Kim! Looks like Minneapolis š
I agree with you about a live class vs. doing it at home…It’s great to have the option/convenience to workout at home, but I definitely push myself harder in a live class!
Great week of workouts for you!
LOL, and we just got 8 more inches overnight. I’m so confused as to why we’re getting most of our snow in March?!
I agree. You had a great week.
More sun here today. More predicted for next Sunday. Enough already.
I am nursing a leg injury do not running much is never a good week.
Optimistic that I can complete a half in 2 weeks. I may be delusional.
We got another 8 inches of snow overnight but it’s supposed to be sunny here too, I guess that’s a win? LOL
I love that you keep up with your workouts even in the worst weather conditions. š
Isn’t it supposed to warm up in March?
I can’t believe that we’ve gotten so much snow in March already!
good strong week! crazy weather though… hello, spring calling, please pick up the darn phone!
you and me both with the stronger core before marathon training starts!!
a free fun run sounds GREAT!!
Yes, I’ve gotta get this core stronger before Chicago Marathon training starts!
Sounds like a great week of training! 90s pop seems like it would be a lot of fun for a spin class š
I love 90s music so any spinning class with that theme is always a winner in my book š
Nice week! Love that pizza shirt!!
Thanks so much Vanessa!
Girl, I am not a fan of the allergies that hit in the spring either! We got a double whammy because the pollen has already taken over Houston and then we have dropped temps from 60s down to the 20s overnight. I am so over the crazy weather, that is for sure!
Looks like you had a great week of workouts! Great combo of classes and running!
Cheers to March!
Ugh that sounds awful š Every year I hope that allergy season won’t be bad but it seems to get worse every year.
Running and spinning, and more snow, oh my!
Allergy season here is brutal. We’ve also been having it over and over again because it will warm up enough for things to bloom and then get freezing again. Wash, rinse, repeat. There was even a news report that it was “snowing in Jacksonville” but the snow was actually pollen. It was insanity.
Keep up the great work!
Ugh why does pollen cause so many issues?!
