Happy Tuesday! It’s time for another edition of Tuesday Topics. This week’s Tuesday Topic: Things you saw on your last run. You can write about any running related topic. Remember to link-up with Kim and Zenaida and the bottom of this post!
While I definitely run indoors more than outdoors, especially in the summer, I still see some cool things while running in my city. Stamford is a little bit of an odd city because it has a bustling downtown area but also lots of different suburbs. It can make running a little tricky but I’ve mapped out a few routes that work for shorter and longer runs.
One of my favorite things I saw on my last outdoor run is this Stamford sign. It’s relatively new (less than 2 years old), not too large, and it’s so bright and colorful so it really stands out. It’s also located near some of the dorms for UCONN Stamford so it’s always interesting running by it on a Saturday morning and seeing some of the students just returning from a night out, lol.
I also always see my fair share of animals while out on the run – usually just chipmunks, squirrels and birds. On my last run I was lucky enough to see a small bunny. He was trying to hide but I caught him just in time to get a photo. I also almost literally ran into this family of geese as well. Thankfully they were nice and didn’t make any noises at me when I ran by (geese can be so mean)!
..and then of course, there’s my Peloton runs. My last Peloton run was with Adrian Williams and let’s just say he’s very easy on the eyes so I always enjoy the view 🙂
Tell me: What are some things you saw on your last run?

I did not realize you lived so close to the UConn -always a fun every that comes from campus. Adrian is definitely easy on the eyes and great motivation

UCONN Stamford started with just a building here for classes but they now have two sets of dorms. I like that they are expanding a bit more in Stamford. The campus in Storrs is the main campus and it’s huge!

Awh, the bunny 😉 Well, the geese (and their babies) are cute as well. And, Adrian…well, need I say more? LOL
The Stamford sign is really nice! We have a similar sign in front of our library…it has all the letters (of the word “library”) stacked on top of each other in a whimsical fashion. It’s totally eve-catching! My most recent run (yesterday morning) featured a sunrise 😉

The bunnies are always so cute but I wish they weren’t so scared of me, lol.

Love the Stamford sign! So bright and cheery!
This wasn’t on the run, but we did see deer by our house yesterday. last year was the first time in 12 years that we saw deer in our neighborhood. It was young, so we just assumed it had lost its way and never saw it again. But yesterday we say a mama with her older fawn! Alas, they were too quick for photos.
kookyrunner says
Thanks! I love it also because it really stands out where it is located – you certainly can’t miss it, lol.
I have recently seen deer behind my house twice in the past 2 weeks. I usually only see them about once a year so that was rare!

That Stamford Sign is the type of sign I love and always hunting for – big, bright and beautiful! Geese do have an attitude problem! As for Adrian — your certainly saved the best for last huh?! LOL!
kookyrunner says
Haha yes – I saved the best for last, lol.

It’s always great to see animals despite being in an urban setting.
I always wonder how they survive between all the people, dogs and cars. Where does that goose find an undisturbed place to breed the eggs until they are ready to hatch?
Cool that you spotted the bunny, too!
kookyrunner says
I always wonder that as well, especially when I see deer behind my house. I always wonder how they got there, lol.

I ran in the neighborhood yesterday so birds bunnies lots of flowers and a little library.
Looking forward to my runs tomorrow and Thursday for some interesting sights.
kookyrunner says
i love that so many towns now have the little libraries.

Very nice family of Canadian geese. I use to feed them when I spend my week end on the Bolsena lake.
I love to meet animals when I run but my workouts are mainly through the city so I see cats and many birds: seagulls, crows, pigeons, blackbirds, swallows, ecc.
kookyrunner says
Those are usually the birds I see on my runs as well, although I haven’t seen seagulls in a while.
Zenaida Arroyo says
Adrian is HOT! 🙂 I love the colorful Stamford sign! I don’t think we have one here but have seen similar ones (in pictures) of places in Mexico. Even my hometown has one!
kookyrunner says
I think my sister has a picture with a similar sign in Mexico when she visited a few years ago – I’ll have to ask her to see it again.

Love that Stamford sign! We had a weird episode when my son was a toddler where a goose ran up and bit him. So yes… they are mean!
i can see how Adrian could be very… motivating!
kookyrunner says
Adrian is definitely motivating, especially when he busts out dance moves during class lol.
Michelle D. says
That Stamford sign is so fun!
I’ve been seeing a lot of bunnies lately…more than I can remember in recent years. They’re so darn fast I haven’t been able to catch a photo.
And, well as for Adrian…ah yes…always motivating 😉
kookyrunner says
Hmm…sounds like the bunnies may have had a very active Winter lol.
