Happy Sunday. I hope that everyone had a great week. It was another week of semi-crazy weather, bad allergies and good workouts.
Here’s a rundown of my workouts from this week:
Monday, May 3
Peloton Holiday Ride 12/20/19 – Ally (30 minutes)
Peloton WHM Celebration Bootcamp 3/11/20 – Chase (45 minutes)
Peloton Power Yoga 10/28/20 – Ross (10 minutes)
Peloton BHM: Go-go Yoga 2/8/21 – Chelsea (30 minutes)
I woke up still feeling fine after my 2nd Pfizer shot so decided to do a bootcamp/ride combo. I think I will do these more often – stacking these two types of workouts really gives me a great, sweaty workout. Absolutely loved the Go-go Yoga class – the music was upbeat and even allowed for a few dance breaks 🙂
Tuesday, May 4
Peloton WHM Celebration Run 3/5/20 – Olivia (45 minutes)
Peloton Holiday Ride 12/20/19 – Robin (30 minutes)
Peloton AHM Upper Body: Live From Home 5/11/20 – Robing (20 minutes)
Peloton Power Yoga 11/14/19 – Ross (10 minutes)
Olivia is such a great tread instructor – she definitely knows how to push you even when you want a break. Yeah, the power yoga classes are not for me, lol. Oh the things I’ll do for a Peloton challenge badge, lol.
Wednesday, May 5
Peloton Pop Walk 4/30/21 – Matty (30 minutes)
Peloton Holiday Ride 12/13/19 – Olivia (30 minutes)
Peloton Holiday Ride 12/6/19 – Christine (30 minutes)
Peloton Usher Yoga Flow 4/29/21 – Chelsea (45 minutes)
I always enjoy walks with Matty because I know I will hear a bunch of fun stories. Chelsea delivered an awesome yoga class. She’s probably one of my favorite, if not my favorite, Peloton yoga instructor.
Thursday, May 6
Peloton Usher Run 4/28/21 – Chase (30 minutes)
Peloton Usher Ride 4/30/21 – Cliff (30 minutes)
Peloton Usher Full Body Strength 4/28/21 – Ben (30 minutes)
Chase’s run focused on more of Usher’s slower R&B type songs which was a little weird for running, but it was still a good class. This was my first ride with Cliff, one of the new Peloton instructors in Germany. Even though the class was in German, I really loved Cliff’s energy and vibe so I’l probably take a few more of his classes. Ben is great for strength classes and his Usher class didn’t disappoint.
Friday, May 7
Peloton Usher Bike Bootcamp 5/2/21 – Cody (45 minutes)
Peloton Usher Ride 4/28/21 – Ally (30 minutes)
Peloton APIHM Arms & Light Weights 5/7/21 – Olivia (10 minutes)
As always, Cody made the bike bootcamp class super fun. He just says things during his classes that make me laugh out loud and he always has an awesome playlist too. Overall all of the Usher classes were very well done. The 10 minute arms class was brutal! Sure it was a short class, but Olivia knows how to bring the burn in a short amount of time.
Saturday, May 8
Peloton Las Vegas Strip at Night Scenic Run (10 minutes)
Peloton WHM Celebration Run 3/13/20 – Matty (30 minutes)
Peloton Holiday Ride 12/6/19 – Leanne (30 minutes)
Peloton Holiday Ride 16/6/19 – Kendall (30 minutes)
I did another one of the scenic runs as a quick warm up. My legs felt pretty stiff so I used that class as a walk/run to get my legs moving. The Women’s History Month run was okay. I love Matty but a lot of the songs were Broadway tunes so it wasn’t the most upbeat music. Also it was so weird to do an older running class from last March and still see people in the studio. It must have been one of the last studio classes before the Covid shutdown. I’m still loving the holiday themed rides even though we are very far away from Christmas, lol.
Sunday, May 9
Peloton Holiday Ride 12/13/19 – Sam (30 minutes)
Peloton Holiday Ride 12/6/19 – Alex (30 minutes)
Peloton Full Body Strength 7/3/19 – Jess (15 minutes)
Happy Mother’s Day! If you’re celebrating today I hope that you have an amazing day 🙂 I was also hoping to get in a run today but I ran out of time.
Total Weekly Mileage: 11.2 miles
Summary: 5 runs*, 2 bootcamps, 10 cycle, 4 yoga and 4 strength/HIIT classes.
*I include running from my OTF workouts, boot camp classes and stand alone runs.
Peloton Artist Series Classes Progress – 262/264
My allergies continue to be a pain in the butt. I had a few really bad days this week, including Friday. I don’t know why this allergy season is so bad but I’m over it. I’ll be glad when I can get some relief!
One of the big stories this week was the Peloton treadmill recall. Of course this would happen after we’ve only had the treadmill for 2 weeks. As of now, we don’t plan on returning it, but the company is offering a very generous return policy giving owners until 2022 to return the treadmill. I’m in a few different Peloton related groups on Facebook and I couldn’t believe how many posts were in every group about the treadmill – it was ridiculous! Also people kept asking the same questions over and over again. I just stop checking the groups because all the chatter was kind of crazy.
…and now for this week’s memes
That’s it! I hope you had a great week 🙂
I’m linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.

I realized really quickly that the power yoga classes were a lot harder! Had to get that badge though right 🙂 Way to get back on track this week. Happy mother’s day to your mom and hope dad is doing better!
kookyrunner says
haha yup! And I figured I could deal with it for 10 minutes, lol.
Jessie says
That zoom meme is so true…and not being able to use the pandemic as a reason not to do something anymore, ha!
Go-go yoga sounds fun! I like a sweaty faster yoga class sometimes.
Interesting about all the Peloton treadmill chatter…My friends only have the bike, so I really don’t know that much about the background, but glad they are doing the right thing (though I would think any treadmill is inherently a little dangerous, right?) I’ll have to read up on it more.
kookyrunner says
Even though I’m vaccinated I still don’t want to be around a bunch of people – you won’t see me at a concert anytime soon!
The Go-go yoga was definitely more fast paced but I loved the music so I didn’t mind it.
Wendy says
My allergies–that I didn’t know I had until this year–have been bad! As have all my patients. i hope we all feel better soon!
And yes to that Zoom meme! It’s so nice to turn on mute and turn off the video so you can pretend you’re at the meeting…lol
kookyrunner says
It seems like the pollen this year is just off the charts bad – it’s horrible!
Michelle D. says
Good to hear you liked all of the Usher classes. I have them bookmarked though I admit after Ally’s Beyonce ride fiasco I’m hesitant to take another class with her.
That Zoom meme is so true!
kookyrunner says
The Zoom meme made me laugh so hard this week, lol. I still have no plans to be around a ton of people even though I’m vaccinated.
Ally’s Usher ride was more subdued than her Beyonce ride – thank goodness! The playlist was good too.
Coco says
That vacation meme hits close to home. I have a lot of European clients and get their out of office messages and they’re for 3 weeks! The worst is to get one after I’ve worked late to get them something. 😛
I felt the same about Chase’s Usher run, but I took it outside when I usually do my own thing anyway. I will have to try that Go-Go yoga — the hardest thing will be hitting “start” on a 30 min yoga class.
kookyrunner says
The 30 min yoga classes are still challenging for me, but I still have no problem scaling down and doing a lot of modifications. I tend to prefer Ross and Chelsea’s 30 min classes so far.
Is it me or does it seem like the UK always has a ton of bank holidays? I’m so jealous of them!
Kimberly Hatting says
I immediately thought of you (and your mother) when I heard about the Peloton treadmill ordeal. I probably wouldn’t be going that route anyways, but I think dear old Milly may need a successor. Obviously, I’m not really diving into any kind of a mad search, because I’ve gotten along just fine without her since February LOL Anyways, great job with all your workouts this week! I hope you get some relief from all your allergy discomforts!
kookyrunner says
The Peloton treadmill debacle was nuts last week. It seems like the chatter has died down a bit since Peloton released a statement and sent emails to all treadmill owners.
Jenny says
So correct me if I’m wrong, but unless you have small children the peloton treadmill isn’t really a danger, right? It’s not like it’s a dangerous to adults running on it. I can see how it would be a Facebook scandal though.
Crazy that you felt completely fine after your second shot and went about your workouts normally! You must think the other half of us are terrible, awful complainers. Whatever! We’re all vaccinated and that’s what matters.
kookyrunner says
That’s how I look at it – honestly any treadmill has a risk. I think the issue with Peloton is that it’s made slighlight different than traditional treadmills, it looks more like woodway treadmills.
I actually felt guilty that I didn’t have any reaction to the second shot since I know so many people that did!
Marcia says
Alleriges are hitting me harder this season as well. Ugh. I thought of you the minute I saw the Peloton recall. What a PIA. I can’t imagine what this will cost that company. Yikes.
kookyrunner says
I can’t imagine how hard this has to be for Peloton, especially the people that work in their customer service division. I hope that people are being kind when calling in to ask questions.
Lisa @ Mile by Mile says
That’s so crazy about the treadmills! Did they say more about how they can be dangerous? I mean you would think a child shouldn’t really be around a treadmill if its on, right?
Love that Zoom meme! I am getting way too used to virtual meetings and its going to be so weird to not have the option to mute or turn off my camera when we’re back in person.
kookyrunner says
I think any treadmill has risks, but the Peloton is designed a little differently than typical treadmills. I definitely think there is a way to make it safer, but I also don’t think children and pets should be around the equipment if they are unattended. I can see both sides of the argument though.
I really have no plans to do in person meetings in the near future, especially since I am a permanent WFH employee lol.
Liz Dexter says
I didn’t realise there were walks on there, just managed to find them. They look ideal as I have some new bluetooth earphones but I’m lairy of running in them as I think they’ll fall out. Walking should be fine though and I do need to walk more.
kookyrunner says
The walks are nice because you can make them harder by doing it as more of a powerwalk, or just keep it at a nice leisurely pace for a fun walk.
Chocolaterunsjudy says
I have to imagine since you don’t have kids or pets, keeping your tread should be just fine. Bandit has shown zero interest in the treadmill (he prefers snoozing in the chaise next to me), but still glad I didn’t seriously con one. The cats used to jump up 9n it while I was running!
I know my brother & Mr. Judy suffer terribly with their allergies. My sympathies, Kim!
kookyrunner says
Exactly! As long as the treadmill itself doesn’t have any technical issues, we will keep it.
I hope that the pollen count isnt too bad this week – I need some relief!
Zenaida Arroyo says
I heard about the recall and thought of you too! I still want to get one! 🙂 I know what you mean about Cody. I love him too. I always laugh when I take one of his classes. I also saw that meme about the out of office and cannot wait to use it after Summer School. Haha!!!
kookyrunner says
Cody is just the best. You just never know what’s going to come out of his mouth, lol.
Renée @runlaugheatpie says
I thought about you when I heard about the treadmill! Is it really an issue? weren’t they pressured to recall because of the child dying issue? I have to admit I now close the door when I’m working out as I don’t want the cats near the spin bike wheel or the tread when I’m using it. Maybe just a good idea in general not to have small children or pets near that sort of machine!
And I have to say yes it’s true about the European out of offices! haha! And (not so) funny story – my mother was once in the hospital and her boss kept calling her to ask her if she was going to finish the payroll!! There’s got to be some sort of halfway point, between these working cultures, don’t you think?
kookyrunner says
The child’s death is the main reason I think they were made to recall the treadmill, but I know there were other non-fatal incidents reported (both adults and children). I think there’s risk with any treadmill but it seems like this tread has more accidents. I’m sure part of that is user error but it’s still concerning.
OMG your mom’s boss sounds like a real jerk – I think I would have cursed him out on the phone!
