Happy Sunday! I hope that everyone had a great week and weekend. I was very appreciative of a 4 day work week and I’m also looking forward to my staycation next week.
Here’s how my workouts went this week
Here’s how my workouts went this week:
Monday, June 29
Peloton Spotify Mint EDM Ride 1/22/20 – Olivia (45 minutes)
Peloton King Princess Ride 6/23/20 – Emma (20 minutes)
#nevermissamonday ๐ So….I wasn’t feeling the music for either ride. There were 2 or 3 songs I liked from the EDM ride and the music for the King Princess rides weren’t good for spinning – her voice is beautiful but the songs are more slow tempo. I feel like they would be great for a Yoga flow class. But this is why I’m loving exploring the Artist Series classes – I get to try out a bunch of different classes and get exposed to more genres or music.
Tuesday, June 30
Orangetheory Fitness – Strength (45 minutes)
Peloton Weezer Ride 1/2/20 – Denis (30 minutes)
Nothing like a spicy OTF workout to start off the day. It was a strength day which meant inclines on the treadmill (don’t like) and lifting heavier on the floor (love). For some reason, I’m having a good time on the rowers. I’m not sure if doing cycle more consistently has helped with my endurance and rowing, but I’ll take it! When I got back home, I jumped on the bike to take a 30 min class. Music was great and a lot of fun!
Wednesday, July 1
Peloton Go Canada! Ride 6/29/20 – Cody (20 minutes)
Peloton R&B Bootcamp 12/14/19 – Jess (60 minutes)
Happy Canada Day to our neighbors up north!
I was really tired on Tuesday and that kind of spilled over into the morning when I woke up, but I fought the urge to sleep in. I used the ride as a warm up to wake up my legs and body. I didn’t want to go right into doing the boot camp until I got a little more energy. The boot camp class was just what I needed – great music, great focus on upper, lower and core workouts and nice treadmill blocks.

Thursday, July 2
Peloton Billie Eilish Run 1/25/20 – Becs (30 minutes)
Peloton Billie Eilish Ride 1/23/20 – Kendall (30 minutes)
Peloton Desmond Child Yoga Flow 6/18/20 – Aditi (20 minutes)
I have heard of Billie Eilish but I didn’t know any of her songs so I didn’t know what to expect for these classes. I liked a few of the songs, but I feel like they may have been better for a fun walk class vs a run and cycle class, just because of the slower tempo. I decided to do the Yoga class after those two classes because my body just felt super tight. It was a good call!
Friday, July 3
Orangetheory Fitness – Endurance/Strength (45 minutes)
Peloton Kesha Ride 3/12/20 – Olivia (30 minutes)
This was my first OTF class since March with my favorite instructor Amanda. It felt good to have the day off work so that I could attend her class.
Saturday, July 4
Peloton All For One Run 7/2/20 – Multiple Instructors (30 minutes)
Peloton All For One More Ride 7/2/20 – Multiple Instructors (45 minutes)
Peloton All For One Strength 7/2/20 – Multiple Instructors (30 minutes)
The are my favorite classes of the year, but this was a doozy! I like having more time on the weekends to do longer workouts but this trifecta was rough, but worth it. I enjoy these classes so much because they feature so many different instructors. IT’s a great way to get a taste of their teaching styles – especially for instructors I don’t take that often.
Sunday, July 5
Orangetheory Fitness – Power (45 minutes)
Peloton Smokey Robinson Ride 2/13/20 – Hannah C (30 minutes)
This class kicked my butt! It was a power day which meant heavier weights and longer rowing blocks but I liked mixing it up. I have also enjoyed using a cycle class to flush out my legs after an OTF class.
Total Weekly Mileage: 12.1 miles
Summary: 6 runs*, 8 cycle class, 3 OTF class, 1 strength workout and 1 bootcamp classe.
*I include running from my OTF workouts, boot camp classes and stand alone runs.
Peloton Artist Series Classes Progress – 47/86
Grade This Week A
Now that I have a few OTF classes under my belt, I can honestly say that not only do I feel safe, but I’m also loving the workouts. At first I didn’t know if I would get the same quality workout since the classes are now only 45 minutes and I’m wearing a mask, but I feel spent leaving the studio which tells me that the workout was a success!
I got my Apple watch toward the end of April and I love it, but I don’t know how they determine the monthly challenges. Look at what it gave my for my July challenge.
Seems a bit aggressive?
For perspective, my May challenge was to earn 1,800 exercise minutes for the month and my June challenge was to double my move goal (which would be 1,200 calories) twice during this month. I was able to hit those monthly goals but I’m really not sure about the July goal – that’s a lot of calories to burn!
I am very much looking forward to my staycation next week. It’s going to be great to disconnect and do whatever I want next week. Besides getting in my workouts, I have no other plans, but I’ll probably do some reading and watch Netflix.
…and now for this week’s meme collection..

Dear July – Don’t be an asshole.

My friend posted this the other day and I couldn’t stop laughing
That’s it! I hope you had a great week ๐
Iโm linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.
In Case You Missed It

July 2020 Goals
You are such a champ with your Peloton and OTF workouts! It seems like forever since I’ve been on a rower. OMG that food meme! I’m taking lots of grief here from Thing 1 about my “boring” dinners. We have a weekly rotation. She has ZERO ideas as to the kinds of foods she’d like to see added to it. I say SHE take a night or two and cook the dang dinner! Haha!
I think Thing 1 should definitely cook dinner a few nights one week! She probably won’t think they are boring once she has to cook them, lol.
I’m so happy that you’re back at OTF, I know that you really missed it. Happy vacay next week!
Thanks! I’m looking forward to the downtime ๐
Always love your memes, Kim! I’m getting to the point where I just want someone to serve me, LOL, but that’s not gonna happen.
So happy that you feel safe at OTF. I know you’ve missed that!
I forgot about the all for one Saturday, but then again, I was busy with my run. Oh well! Enjoy that staycation. Even at home, it’s nice not to have to answer to anyone once in a while.
Same! I’m SO sick of cooking and thinking go things to eat. I just want to go to a restaurant but I’ll wait a little longer.
Hopefully you can take one or more of the All for One classes – they are currently on demand on the app. I still need to take the yoga class and the other cycle class.
Welcome back to OTF! It must feel good to be back doing normal things like that. Also, your chicken nugget meme had me laughing too much LOL. I miss going out to nice restaurants on date nights!
It does feel good to be back and see the coaches! Things are very different but the workouts are still killer ๐
The chicken nugget meme is so ridiculous LOL.
Youโre a beast with your Peleton and OTF workouts.
Love your memes.
Enjoy your staycation.
Iโve taken 3 Mondayโs off just to do nothing.
I love that you have taken off a few Mondays already this summer. A 3-day weekend can be so good to reset and rest!
Seriously, I am lookin at July to just be boring and uneventful. Is that even possible anymore?! I did the cycle all for one classes but need to do the strength workout tomorrow. They did a really good job this year figuring it out. Nice mix of workouts for you this week!
I am hoping for a SUPER boring July. I don’t know if that will happen though, lol. I was super impressed with the production for the All for One classes – they were really good!
Fantastic job with both Peloton and OTF! I’m glad your return to OrangeTheory has been a smooth one. We enter phase 3 this week so my OTF studio should be opening soon – still not sure if I’m ready to start classes again, but I do miss it.
Enjoy your staycation!!
Thanks Michelle! I waited until my OTF studio was open for about a week before I went back. I wanted to give them time to learn and implement all the new procedures.
Wow, you had a solid week of Peloton and OTF classes! Iโm glad you are able to enjoy your OTF classes โ including with your favorite coach! I hope you enjoy your staycation. I really need to take some time off โ maybe I can take some Fridays off ….
I hope you can take some time off soon – your idea of taking of a few Fridays sounds fun! 3 day weekends can be great, especially in the summer.
Glad you’re back at OTF, I know how much you missed it (not that you did any slacking off at home). I’d love a staycation (with no work to deal with), but I really enjoyed having Friday off…but my Friday was not restful in the least LOL This may be a good week for a lunch walk/talk (?)
I definitely missed OTF a lot. I still go back and forth whether or not I should have gone back but I really do feel safe there, especially with the masks. Yes, this would be a good week for a walk and talk!
What a great challenge for July! Glad you are feeling good at OTF, sounds like they are staying safe there. I’m sure it feels great to be back!
Enjoy sleeping in maybe and some downtime on your staycation next week
I can never really sleep in too late, but I’m looking forward to getting maybe 30 minutes of extra sleep – lol.
Enjoy the staycation!
Glad you feel comfortable back at OTF.
Thanks so much Cari!
Glad you are enjoying being back at the studio and that it feels safe and effective! Thats a weird challenge for your apple watch. Is there no way to choose your own challenge? I feel like that would be more helpful!
I don’t think there’s a way to select a challenge for the Apple watch but I wish there was an option to do that!
Isn’t it amazing how the days you don’t want to get up and run (or ride) are exactly the days you should do that the most? Way to get yourself going on Wednesday. I am glad you could safely go back to OTF again.
Exactly! Those mornings where it’s super hard to get out of bed usually end up being my best workouts of the week – go figure!
Girl. July is already testing me.
You are a total rockstar and I am so glad you feel safe at OTF and were able to rekindle your love of it! That’s so great to hear!
Thanks Jenn! It feels good to be back at OTF.
Yeah unfortunately it looks like July is already starting with the shenanigans – ugh!
Great work and you’re over half way through those artist workouts now! What has been your favourite so far and are these ones you can do on an ongoing basis once you’ve chosen the ones you like? I’m also so happy for you that you feel safe back at OTF, they do sound like they are looking after you. It will be a while till our gyms are open and a while longer before I trust them!
Thanks Liz! My favorite Artist Series workouts so far have been their P!nk and Lizzo classes (run and cycle). The released a few Whitney Houston classes last week and I have a feeling I will love those too.
I am a little afraid of July. Ugh, what could happen this time?
I am looking forward to being off for Summer Break. I have a few books to read, catch up on my shows, and keep decluttering. ๐
Enjoy your staycation!
I had high hopes for July but it’s already proving to be another crazy month!
